there are even people who have a rapid rating double than their FIDE.
I guess in most cases this is with players who played their last FIDE tournament long ago.

Like yesterday I played a casual blitz game against an opponent who was 2028 blitz but only 1096 FIDE! And I have 2100 national rating but still only 2068 blitz! So all that shows that there is no direct ratio between these two ratings, these two ratings are completely different.

@Katzenschinken yes, might be the case, but nevertheless, there are players with "abnormal" rating differences between lichess and FIDE.

You're 1958 Classical. Probably best not to use blitz or bullet numbers unless your FIDE rating achieved playing FIDE rated blitz or bullet games.
Yeah but even my Rapid FIDE is only 1170. Also I can increase my classical rating 200 points if I start playing actively.

@VihaanDumir when was your last OTB tournament?

Because it seems ridiculous to me that your lichess rating is so high after being only a 1200. You are in the 98.6th percentile in rapid!! But in FIDE you'd be only in the 40th percentile.

My own comment #42: My opponent could actually be a cheater (maybe not, cuz I beat him), because his account got mysteriously closed after the game ( I played 3 games with him, I lost one and won 2). So having a ridiculously high difference between FIDE and lichess could have 3 reasons: Either the player is cheating, or his last OTB game is a long time ago. Or he is just lying about his FIDE rating, to make an impression that he is a bad player and then suddenly surprises.

@VihaanDumir U are 2300 and in FIDE ELO u are close to 1300 is for the reason that u have not played much at the OTB. If u got the same no. of games as in OTB then u would be close to 2300. Here the disparity is for the reason that u dont have OTB games. This is the case with lots of players. The rating of Lichess is not the same as ELO but the difference would not be more than 20 % as a thumb rule. Though we have deviated from the topic which is that what are the things we are bad at , at the lower level. One of the things that we are pretty bad is our self evaluation or u have the people around u who put poor value on u. If we ge this high then the other things also get better.

Well I must say that USCF or FIDE is mostly about classical, doesn’t mean that your Blitz is good :)
