If you didn't have interest I could understand you just going, but why did you feel a need to say things? What did you attempt to accomplish with that message?
I can speak from my example. I was tested back then as a kid, because I didn't do well in school (except math where I was the best in class) and they taught I probably have some kind of problem, but I was just uninterested in rote learning of something I will forget and things I will never need in my life anyway. I did the test back then and scored 120 on a test a psychologist gave me. About a year ago I did the Mensa test and scored the same 120. At 7th grade I joined a chess class in school where, after I played a couple of games I started to beat everyone in school except the professor who is also a math teacher and a good chess player himself. There are many cases where people that are good at math are also good at chess. If I were to sum it up, I would say that IQ and chess are definitely in correlation with each other and my opinion is that if you would test GM M.Carlsen he would undoubtedly score in the ranks of a genius (160).

And I doubt that chess and IQ are linked anymore than anything else and IQ (presumably the smarter you are, the better you'll do at stuff in general).
Not to mention the fact that the concept of IQ is a dubious one, to say the least. Take something very very complicated and then stick a number on it...yeah, there's a real stroke of genius right there. ;)
There is a low correlation, chess is 99% experience. Einstein was a poor chess player because he didn't play very often. Its all due to the media and societies mistaken view that chess is for smart people. Chess is no more for smart people than computer programming or stock trading or even being a freaking dolphin trainer.
Successful people generally have higher IQs because they put in the effort to learn more AND are more efficient at it.

Well it is not that dubios because research has shown
- IQ is better predictor of job success than CV, shcool grades, interview, references
- high IQ people on average live longer
- at teenage IQ is better predictor of future income than school success or parents sosio-economic backround
- disproponate part inmates have IQ below 90
- and so on..
so it might simplify things but as far as single number can go it very good. Actualli most robust and most predictie measure of Psychology has ever produces.
Chess IQ helps for sure but I remeber seeign that ther is a grandmaster with IQ measured to be 100 so over half of the population should not impeded by lack whatever IQ measures. I remember study on school kids who taught chess. In short term kids with high IQ were better and bit longer term stongest predictor how much the liked the game. Which makes sense.
I am fairly sure that @TheThirdMouse is at minimum a relative to @YouGetNoRest. the latter being obsessed with a 3 digit IQ never measured in any living being before, the former supposedly having an IQ of 45 both taking the Mensa test at an early age. @TheThirdMouse claiming to be a child, however engaging in every possible argument, and @yougetnorest claiming to be a competitive whiskey drinking girl who supposedly couldn't register at chess.com and learned the game in 20 minutes and @TheThirdMouse was kicked out of chess.com for abuse of the forums.
@TheThirdMouse patterns can not only observed in chess but as well in the behavior of people....

I've been to a tournament 4 months ago, and I ask the students (11-16 years old) their grades in mathematics (as it is closely linked to french) and most of them had an average 80-95% in matheamtics (16/20-19/20).
I think chess helps to get a higher IQ but it is only a supposition. 4 years ago, when I was 11, my grade in mathematics were around 55%. I started playing chess at the age of 13 and my grades improved from 55-65% to 85-95% (I currently have 95% average in mathematics)
