Chess can be interpreted as patterns, you can reason it that way, or in any number of other ways. Chess is itself, what we consider it is as is just a model. Surely you MUST have a concept of that!?

So I'll give two empirical examples:
Paranoid schizophrenia is pretty insane,
Math is pretty logical,

Second one is from my experiance visiting a mental hospital.
I was visiting a friend that wasn't feeling too well and he was locked up.
There I met and talked with some people that seemd very smart, but they where damaged in some ways that made them dangerous to themselves and prehaps others.

Being dangerous is not insane. Schizophrenia is not based on anything empirical, it is a construct and that is a paracosm. Fischer couldn't have played chess as a Schizophrenic, or it would have been nonsense. think about it logically.
