The Hans Niemann Effect

@new_player_123 said in #40:

It is completely understandable that now, when proof of consistency and skill supports Hans, folks like @Tim_Pool @Cedur216 @Tim_Pool @PROSPECTARI @VINCENTYU @BeaverB1xQD8 relate to hollow phrases "cheater is a cheater" and suddenly become tired of any discussion.

The fun of collectively bullying someone on the basis, as it now turns out, of unfounded allegations and amateur statisticians. The enjoyment of siding with an "idol" fighting for the "good and righteousness" and spinning conspiracy theories.
Culminating in something like an act of group-catharsis, projecting own flaws on a powerless scapegoat to be publicly shamed, convicted by mob opinion and crucified vicariously.

And I call everyone, who claims to have never cheated in some way in life, a liar.

Understandably Hans has to stay buried now. Fun is over.

... well, he wont ...

Chess should not become a popularity contest. It's really sad from someone who heaps constant abuse on his opponents -- and the same people are attacked much more viciously by his "fans" or followers.

Still and absolutely deserves respect.
Downvote downvote downvote lol.

Almost started a thread for this:
Do you think someone who is 2500 could be a doctor?
A bit rhetorical because of course yes.
A 1200 rated player could be as well.

Lets say you play someone and win.
Then you lay into him and insult him.
Turns out he was actually your doctor,
Your lawyer, your friends' or sons' teacher,

Etc. Etc. Etc. The point is that, you should not be hostilely calling them "Idiots" and "Morons" and to do so is really atrocious.

If you are a "professional" after all, then you make your livelihood from these people and others.

Can you imagine a doctor insulting his patients for knowing less about medicine than him? No, they come to him for his profession.

And as a professional he is not going to say "you moron" etc.

Sigh I'm typing on a phone and I know that most people will not comprehend what I'm saying, but to constantly rapproach or insult those whom you are a "professional" towards, is nothing less than laughable or buffoonery.

Again, downvote or whatnot but it's very clear. And I've said it again

Nothing good can thrive in such an environment of such idiotic, senseless antipathy.

What's left to discuss? The cheating speaks for itself.

So what do we do about this? Magnus is cheating in front of your eyes in this video (and it's not the only time). Is there no room for Magnus Carlsen anywhere?

WOOOOOAAH!

Now that's a game changer...
Have you sent this video to any mainstream media?

just wait the jury see this during the court hearing, ouch!

damn you got me

Hey guys and gals!

Nobody here cares about this shit seriously imo.

So...

I don't even give a s* about this matter, but I want these pointless discussions to be more fun!

From now on, we will make this an actually interesting competition.
You have to make a bet for the following question:

Will Hans Niemann be found guilty of over the board (OTB) cheating during the next year?

RULES:

(1) You have to make a choice by writing INNOCENT or GUILTY.

(2) You have to place a bet by making up a punishment that you will have to do (to yourself) if you are wrong.
(e. g.: Donation to a charity/lichess, push-ups, drinking something disgusting etc.)

(3) If you don't place a bet, you have to be silent!

(4) Punishments have to be performed when we know the result after 1 year on 09.11.2023, 24:00/12 pm!

Though, when someone argue there is no proof he cheated, there are proofs.
There isn't 3 types of people -online cheaters, OTB cheaters and non cheaters.
There is no room for cheaters anywhere.

Your attempt at sarcasm failed. Your flawed logic did in fact "get you". Whether your ego accepts it or not, others will.

If you can get reach a point where you consider all the factual info and can rationally and with introspection, correct your thinking, then you have won!

nobody will except a cycle of four people that constantly bicker and bluster into anger on this forum and backpat eachother while doing so.

@RPO-599 I bet guilty (personal belief).

my punishment: checking if you still remember your joke in one year.

Hmm... a fight. I would avoid fighting though.
If a mod sees this then they might give you all a warning.

It's quite literally beyond insane to think that Hans cheated in that game.
