And still, what is the arguement for casusal (unrated) games?

Yees, I want to know this too.

Berserker reduces your elo, but it has been around for more than 10 years, like chosing colors.

Next on lichess: remove all chess variants, all options, make lichess more simple, less code, go backwards!

Where are you getting this information from? Where is the statistic that shows beserkermode lowers ELO, and where is posted that fewer variants will be available on Lichess?

Berserker means you have less time. Of course, with less time you are at a disadvantage. I am not saying get rid of berserk mode, I am saying, people are outraged about white/black, but like berserk mode. My point is "double-standards"!

Come on, this is all just rules breaking. Willing white players playing willing black players do not break any rules of the game, nor do they use engines etc. like the flood of false analogies here suggests.

There is no inherent rule in chess that says you can't use a computer. The only rules of chess are how the pieces move, and the winning/losing conditions. There are federations and sites that made the rule of not allowing computer assistance as it provides an unfair advantage. This is also why in Fide tournaments, you can't play the same color more than twice in a row. It is unfair to the people you are paired against to play everything with white.

I've already mentioned that the real solution is simply NOT to automatch color-chosen games. Nobody responded to that suggestion. They'd rather be like "Haha kid, the time of your punishment has come. Play black and cry or die".

Probably since they see it as finally ketting a level playing field.

Seasoned white player vs seasoned black player of a similar rank is most often pretty much equal initially.

That doesn't mean the consistent advantage is unfair.

Also if I come across a black-piece guy who is constantly beating me, I still play game after game because I play for training not for artificial ranking. The reason for me to even have any ranking in the first place is only to be able to find willing black-piece players on a similar or higher level to mine.

The price I already pay is not being able to play tournaments and I'm ok with that.

In my city there's a place by the river where people meet to play chess.
When I come by I always ask, who'd like to play black? Nobody ever had a problem with that.
Why is that a problem here is truly mind-boggling.

No, this exact feature is actually maintained on the site. You can approach any of the players and ask them if they mind black against you. If they accept, you play the game.

Except both players can use this. If one person was forced to play with beserker mode against the same opponent every time, this would be an excellent point - which was what these people were doing with their colorpicking against the fair players. I would be against it if people could force others to play at disadvantage with beserkermode 2000 games in a row without having to play with the disadvantage themselves.

They can still play all their tricks and preferences against any of the bots that we have, and invite friends for games in their settings, so the option is still there for anyone to use.

Hi, why do you write this again and again, saw it three times now? - Is not an attack, only wondering.

What does this sentence mean and what's wrong with the solution I propose? - Turn off automatch for color-chosen games.

No you cannot. Invites are cumbersome and limited to a small pool of players, but that you already know.

if your argument in berserker is "freedom", you dont have to play, well that is valid for white/black option, too. You do not have to accept.

If I get berserk, I am "forced" (that is how people argue here) to berserk, too, to make it a level playing field. However, I prefer to play a 1 minute bullet in a 1-min-bullet tournament, not a 0.5 min for both sides, its not the same for me, it is just level.

And with white/black, you simply do not have to accept a challenge, dont understand the problem here. In Berserk, I can not chose "please do not berserk me". but then again, anybody could (if berserk is taken away) let his time tick down, until he is at 30 sec left.
Still, without the berserk option, nobody would use it (that is the arguement style here in this thread). I am not advocating to remove berserk mode, I am just pointing at the hypocrite double-standards arguements.

It means that the reason that people may respond like that, is that they believe justice is being served after years.

I think it's a whole lot of work to build an entire lobby feature around a few people that only want to play with one color. There is no good reason for people not to play both sides, and it would be a waste of the time and cost it takes to develop these features.

Or anyone on Discord, or any of the online players, or any of the available bots. It's just like your place by the river, except with a lot more people to choose from. I don't think anyone has any issues with you inviting people under these terms, or playing AI bots. It's a lot less cumbersome than getting engineer to develop an extra type of lobby though

Wrong, you have to accept if you are auto-matched

You enter a tournament where you know both parties have the option to beserk. You are not playing a lobby game where 25 games in a row, you are forced to play in beserker mode

And with white/black, you simply do not have to accept a challenge, dont understand the problem here. In Berserk, I can not chose "please do not berserk me". but then again, anybody could (if berserk is taken away) let his time tick down, until he is at 30 sec left.

Wrong, you do have to accept the challenge when you are auto-matched. In the tournament, you choose to enter the tournement under these specific rules. If there was a tournament where you can pick your color which you play the entire tournament, that would be entirely fair game. But forcing this on fair people in the lobby, is not the same thing.

Still, without the berserk option, nobody would use it (that is the arguement style here in this thread). I am not advocating to remove berserk mode, I am just pointing at the hypocrite double-standards arguements.

This is the only correct thing you have said so far, if beserk option would not exist, nobody would use it. It's not a double standard though.
