Can't create game with specific side any more

And casual? - we dont have the option for black/white here, too. What is your arguement here?

Well man you're failed.

Why does anyone even have the audacity to meddle in my life and tell me which pieces to play? Are you totally fucked?
Because, it takes two to tango (and play chess).
You see, you're not alone, there are actual people on the opposite side of the board. Gotta accomodate to their needs for fair treatment. Public seeks are NOT meant to only serve your needs.
Also, if you wanna do whatever you want with someone that will put up with your color preferences, just play arranged (aka friendly) games, in which you can STILL choose your color anyway. "Play with a friend" allows whatever you want.
Lastly, let it be known to everyone who's complaining, Lichess is literally a completely free site, giving you all those awesome features without paywalls, and yall are here nitpicking about the colors. How greedy can you get?
Just play the game the way you're supposed to.
If you don't like it, go to the other site, where you have only one free analysis per day, and see how you like 'em apples.
Because, I sure as hell don't...

Starting now to find new solutions. I like to play black unrated and this morning I aborted most of the random white started games, I was forced to play by mashines will.

I directly pressed the rematch button after aborting and .... , well, some nice guys acceppted it. I did not get a ban up to now, but there have not been many white games one after the next.

Can we please be allowed to choose our pieces colour by our own again?
I do not want to be punished because of only a few abusers specially in not rated games.

The alleged reason for impairing our freedom of choice is not at all fulfilled through games that have no rating.

Even if someone only plays white (or black), so what? yes, his rating will be +/- 22 rating points (=+/-3% chance more wins with white/ less wins with black).

His rating will not hurt anyone who plays him with black. The white-only players rating is reflecting his strength (with white), so if you beat him, you will get rewarded. You are not really at a disadvantage, the rating is correctly displayed. Only thing is, that the white player will be 22 rating points higher rated compared to if he played with both colours, but who really cares?
It doesnt distort the rating pool, like sandbagging does, or berserker mode.

Again:
Sandbagging is not allowed, so will remove people from the pool by deleting their accounts. Beserking has nothing to do with this, that's a stupid argument to bring up anyway since it's enabled in tournaments only where both parties know the option is there, and both parties have to option to use it. Using berserker mode also doesn't give you and extra ELO.

I'd like to see where you get these equations and calculations from. How did you determine it's 22+/-?

You can still invite people to play you with the colour of your choosing, as well as 100+ AI bots that you can play with your preferred settings

The link does not relate to the topic and is more than a year old. Dont troll, and act as if this link had relevance.
Here it is about white/black colour chosing. Currently it is disabled, 2 lines of code disabled this.
In that sense, yes, get rid of the 2 lines, and enable white/black option again, it like it was last week and the 10 years before.

Some people can only play one colour, and they chose white to play their one-trick-pony opening. So what? Why force them to do now random sides? Envy because it means they get a slightly better rating. And still, what is the arguement for casusal (unrated) games?

They are in fact so much in favor about you having your liberty, that they allow you to take their entire platform for free, host it on your own server, and make any changes you like. The entire sourcecode for this site is free to take and tweak to your own liking, if you care to pay 100$/month in hosting to host it for the people that support your version of the site.

This part is true but still shouldn't deprive me of the right to express my opinion about the site's features or lack of those.

@connortheconman said in #154:

It's progress, the right kind too. There are all kinds of freedoms taken away from us at this platform. I can't use stockfish during my games, I can't move my bishop from b2 to b3 when need to. I can't make two moves in a row to make my tactic work. I can't even call my opponents racist slurs when they refute my king sacrifice. Just because I'm not allowed to do these things, doesn't mean that that my liberty is being suppressed or that the platform has turned into a restrictive regime that is trying to break the human freedom.

Come on, this is all just rules breaking. Willing white players playing willing black players do not break any rules of the game, nor do they use engines etc. like the flood of false analogies here suggests.

I've already mentioned that the real solution is simply NOT to automatch color-chosen games. Nobody responded to that suggestion. They'd rather be like "Haha kid, the time of your punishment has come. Play black and cry or die".
Seasoned white player vs seasoned black player of a similar rank is most often pretty much equal initially.
Also if I come across a black-piece guy who is constantly beating me, I still play game after game because I play for training not for artificial ranking. The reason for me to even have any ranking in the first place is only to be able to find willing black-piece players on a similar or higher level to mine.

The price I already pay is not being able to play tournaments and I'm ok with that.

In my city there's a place by the river where people meet to play chess.
When I come by I always ask, who'd like to play black? Nobody ever had a problem with that.
Why is that a problem here is truly mind-boggling.

It's directly related, keeping these features means more upkeep, more cost and more development resources. There is no person on earth who is not able to move pieces of one color but is able to move the other ones.

They can still play all their tricks and preferences against any of the bots that we have, and invite friends for games in their settings, so the option is still there for anyone to use.

Berserker reduces your elo, but it has been around for more than 10 years, like chosing colors. I like to keep both, though, chosing colors and berserk mode.

Next on lichess: remove rated mode, its abused, as some players hand select only overrated players
