So I'm at about 22 losses right now, new account, but I've been playing for quite awhile. The likelihood of losing 22 games against players of the same elo is about 0.5^22 or about 0.0000238% according to the multiplication rule of probability.
I'm not a great player, but look, I'm on the cusp of hitting 900 elo, which is probably around the range of 500 on Chess.com. The last time I was at the elo, which was while ago..the matches were too easy. I'm at about 700 on Chess.com which would be about 1100-1200 here I believe.
If I'm actually playing against people at my elo, then I should statistically lose 50% of my games, but I'm losing damn near all of them. I also play on Chess com, and there's cheating there is as well, but I heard there was less here..I'm not sure that's the case because I'm on a massive losing streak the likes which I haven't seen since I first started almost a year ago.
I don't want to get into just how bad the cheating is necessarily, but I just want someone in charge to actually look at some of these games. I don't go off accuracy because cheaters tend to make purposeful mistakes so in order not to get banned. The biggest thing I look at is time per move as well just their supposed skill level vs mine.
In one of my games, I used the Nimzowitch defense, and my opponent new the exact theory to play against it. He's still playing. How many openings is a person at our level expected to know? I know two. I'm becoming frustrated with the experience I'm having here so far. I haven't experienced a losing streak like this in a loong time, and I might just stick to Chess.com even though everything costs money there.

Those Cheating issues, have been around since players started to notice strange game behaviour, basically since the early days of lichess, so it's nothing new around here.
Maybe try and focus on crushing those ones.
Coming out victorious against them , feels like a double win, one for the rating, and one for the anger it possibly brings them.

I Just read Chess.com purged 100,000 people of their site recently for cheating ... It's my guess most of them came here.
Hang in there... let Lichess get to work, and purge these idiots... IMO... this start the whole cycle over again... they create another email that is different than their old one, sneak back on Chess.com... try to be a little more cautious... and start the whole cheating process over... It's a combination of amount of games played and that most of the idiots want to be seen as players at the a certain level... usually a level that eventually get's the exposed...

This calculation is just nonsense you're not at your true rating obviously, that's why you're losing all the time, it's really not very deep. It's not cheating.
https://lichess.org/M1v3yJsM#42
Here you dropped your queen for example, how is that cheating?
https://lichess.org/M1v3yJsM#142
The Endgame you could have won by force against stockfish, that's what the #n means, forced mate in n turns. You just don't know how to win King and Rook vs king.
It's trivial even against SF if you know how.
So this game absolutely proves that's it's nothing to do with cheating.... which is good because it means you can win these in the future ;)

Like I just played this guy, he hung his queen, lost a ton of material right, and then somehow every move afterward was on average 2-4 seconds, couldn't even mate the guy, honestly I got completely outplayed at the end even though he played horrible throughout the opening and middle game. Eventually I just settled on a draw. I already reported him, but I don't think anything is going to happen.
Not much will happen, because it's been identical behaviour with other suspects for many years now.
I don't understand the politics of lichess, they seem to have no solid foundation when it comes to taking chess players serious.
Is lichess a joke website?, or is it just about having a platform with a free service.
Who knows it might just be an Internet experiment....

Well, I've been at this rating for a few months now (On Chess.com), so idk if I believe that. Also even if I belonged at say 800 here, which is about 400 on Chess.com, it doesn't make sense to lose so many games against similarly skilled players. 800-1100 is not a massive jump, and I suspect I'll have the same issues. I think I am at my true elo since it's the same as on Chess.com, and I'm just encountering a lot of cheaters here.
But you know what shoots holes in your little theory of yours? The fact that I was completely winning this game up until the end, so maybe I'm at my correct elo eh?
Here you dropped your queen for example, how is that cheating?
Yes, neither one of us are as good as you so we make mistakes. That's expected because we're low elo players. What's not expected is to play poorly in the opening and mid game and then hit every top 2nd or 3rd best engine move within 4 seconds or less to avoid checkmate.
The Endgame you could have won by force against stockfish, that's what the #n means, forced mate in n turns. You just don't know how to win King and Rook vs king.
I mean yeah? Because we're low level players. But you know what though, if I were him, I'd probably take a lot more time on my moves and would find it difficult to avoid checkmate because again..I'm only 700 elo or 1100 here.
It's trivial even against SF if you know how.

You're coping
In that game you posted, it seems like your problem is that you threw away your queen when you were ahead, and you forgot how to mate with King + Rook - possibly having the extra bishop threw you off? Your opponent doesn't look like a cheater to me.
And once you were on, I dunno, 10 games lost, maybe you were on tilt?
There is definitely a process where Lichess has to find your level. And maybe there is an adjustment in terms of pre-moving and pattern recognition when the board looks different. If you aren't seeing the tactics when they appear then your missing out of material and when you do get a material advantage you're struggling to convert it into a win. I'm not convinced that's a Lichess cheating issue, to be honest.

Shout out to all down voters, obviously you don't know how fragile this system is.
You seem to be some naive kind of people, who wouldn't know what to do when it hits us hard....
All you probably know is : Squeal, Squeal, owwi it hurts it hurts, oh yeah I m sometimes like that, it's nature...

I mean I'm a low elo player, of course I'm not going to know every mate or play the best moves. That's expected. However, it's a pretty common cheater tactic to play poorly in the opening, and then turn on their cheat engine. This guy hung his queen and rook. I was up what 8 material at least and in a good position? And then he was hitting every move within a couple seconds avoiding checkmate, taking material, play completely differently than in the opening and middle game. He's sus. Honestly, his accuracy only skyrocketed because of the end game, that is completely sus.
