Take back option.

@petri999 To most people indicators of "a good game of chess" would include an abundance of ! or !! notations, good moves or brilliancies, well thought out and executed positional strategies, piece harmony, beautiful sacrifices, complex tactics etc. I have a hard time believing that anyone who enjoys chess wouldn't appreciate these finer elements.
To throw away a game like that because of a simple mouse slip, pfffft that should be a crime.
The rules of chess do not expect to return the move back in the ranking games. To do this, there are friendly games in which everything is possible.
@President_DonaldDuck

>To throw away a game like that because a player was--- too lazy to enable move confirmation---, pfffft that should be a crime.

there. I fixed that for you. its my opponents responsibility to make correct moves, not mine. move confirmation is a tool he can use to do that. not my job. its his. I also shouldnt have to spend my mental focus and time to check whether a request is for a legit mouseslip or just a bad play. my opponent is not entitled to that. if they want better games with no wrong moves, enable move confirmation.

personally, i dont enable move confirmation, but i also dont bother with takeback requests either. if I make a mistake, I own it.
@Daeburon I'm not going to get into the whole question of whether it's bad etiquette to not grant takebacks for obvious miceslips or blunders or where to lay blame, which is what all of your arguments focus on. It's a tired argument that doesn't interest me.
Rather then being so caught up in playing the blame game what you should realize is that a good game of chess is something of value in itself and that's what you're depriving yourself of by being so desperate for rating points or needing to punish the opponent for being"stupid or lazy". And after having invested your time and effort into the game you'll never know what the outcome would have been if not for that mouseslip and you are limiting your own learning and growth. You're are cutting off your own nose despite your face and I feel bad for you.
If one mouseslips the game is ruined for all times. With or without takebacks, accepted or not. Either way, it's up to everyone to make a clown out of himself additionally.
If the goalkeeper of a football team had a ballslip, does his team get points back?
@President_DonaldDuck

The real desperation for rating points is of those who don't accept their own mistakes. It's ridiculous to put the blame on the other party.

I have never, ever even once met someone who instead asking for a takeback wrote in chat something along the lines of "well, looks like I lose this game due to a mouseslip. I will accept this and resign [and accept that I lose points because of my mistake], but would you mind to play another game from the position before the mouseslip [because I'm actually interested in playing out this game instead of just averting rating loss]?"

Not once.
[Yes, most would probably ignore or decline this request. But noone even TRIED and asked for it.]
Thank god I have a formula set >2000. So I don't have to to block such crackpots because it prevents me from takebeggars, rematch rambos, notorious chatters and rule noobs.

We just move or resign. Sometimes draw.
