Rematch Button please just remove it.

Usually I decline 80% of the rematch offers just beacause I like to analyze my game right after it. That's it. I forget about your username 3s after game is over.

I play single matches 80% of the time. Maybe, and I know this is a crazy thought, but maybe most people who aren't accepting rematches are doing something other than immediately hitting "new opponent" after they refuse?

Meanwhile, I've got time for a chess game at a time, and never longer than I spent, but it seems as if half the time I refuse, I'm verbally assaulted for not accepting the rematch! I'm a coward, I'm a b****, I'm a jackass...

All because I had 30 minutes, I spent 23 of them playing a chess game, and I'm done now.

(That and occasionally when I was playing correspondance games, I would refuse or be refused rematches by people who were wildly above or below my rating, another perfectly good reason. I can play with someone 200 points above me and try to have a good time, but not 800... and they're not going to have a good time beating me.)

It's really egocentric to claim that people who refuse a rematch do so with the intention to troll you.

In reality, 99% of these people do not care about you, they don't care about your username and they will forget about your existence the moment their next match starts.

Get over it.

To be honest rematch button does not matter so... why talk about useless things where has you can spend same time on playing chess and improving your own chess skills!

Hey guys... the solution is simple.
An enterprising developer creates a "filter" in settings for match seeks. This way, you will only be matched with players of similar interests. You can block all players with usernames starting with the letter "Z", or members who lag by example.
Most likely there is 1 member who fits and everybody is happy !

A simple solution is an option for creating a series of games. Say, a series of 3 games. Or 2 games. So, on the seeks list it's shown with some number "2". And when other person clicks on the challenge, they get a message "this is a series of 2 games, you have to play at least 2 games. If you abort after the first game, you will lose your rating". However, there still should be an option to abort before a series starts. Because sometimes there are very underrated players, lagging, etc. It will solve the problem. If you want rematch, you agree to it from the beginning. Actually, this was requested dozens of times, so I guess it could be a useful feature, if Lichess implemented it. No one would be getting mad because of not getting a rematch. Need rematches -- create a series of games.
It also would solve a problem with those who take rematches after playing black (to get white), and refuse after playing white (to get a new opponent and increase their chances to get white again).

"Every single opponent I have, is looking to troll"
user name discrimination!!!!
I want to play again but my opponent does not.!!!!!

LOLLLLL ROTFLMFAO
This is the best and funniest troll thread I've ever seen. This whole thread should be immortalized.

Looks like genuine veining - from sample of 4 games/opponents ;)
Nothing serious to provoke any reply.

(While I am here - the simplest solution is to ignore that, very useful, rematch button)
