Can you remove the rematch button further more why not just remove user names in general. Every single opponent I have, is looking to troll, they're not interested in playing chess or having fun. The entire point is to win & insult. Nobody rematches on average it's around 1% of the player base. And people block playing with you based on username. I would highly prefer an option to play anonymousely & have a rank which does not associate me with my account.
And the rematch button, this thing just annoys me even further as I want to play again but my opponent does not.
I will also settle for a best of 3, or even a best of 5 option instead.
It's really obnoxious to play 1 game of chess have your opponent refuse to play again & then actually click the "play now" button to get a new opponent.

You aren't entitled to a rematch. If that angers you enough to rant about it, I would take a break from online chess. Its not serious.
Why have the rematch button if nobody uses it? And who is to say "entitled" to a rematch. I believe chess is a best of 3 at the least, and a best of 5 at best. And further more if i'm willing to play again & my opponent is willing to play again, but descriminates against playing me based on username why not have an anonymous mode such that we can play again.
Honestly there is extreme chess discrimination going on where users are on some ridiculous goal to be the best & win vs usernames. It's a king of the hill mentality where they refuse to play again with people based on username. My solution is you either Anonymity the usernames or make a best of 3 or even a best of 5 game mode. Preferably a play now that you're not allowed to just exit out of because of someones username. Here's an option, make it so you don't know your opponents username until AFTER the match. And make it so matches are best of 5. I also think a game mode in which you agree to play with people in your league would be nice, because it's just obnoxious that a person would refuse to play again with another player based on username in ONLINE CHESS.

Like literally the situation which is consistent is this. You ask for a rematch they decline, they then proceed to hit the "play now" button. You also hit play now, it ques both of you together because lets face it you're the 2 people looking for a game at that moment in time, your opponent Aborts the game because of your username. That's terrible sportsmanship, and when 2 players have the same rating, why would one decide not to play with another for any other reason than username. This is abuse & just terrible behavior & completely unsportsmanlike.
For you to literally see this, you're noticing a person goes "oh I want to play again, just not with this person" how can you see this & not think it's completely obnoxious and arrogant behavior. I have also listed several ways that we can solve this problem, and your response is just "take a break pal" Why is that the response instead of "oh interesting problem maybe you do have a solution to the bad sportsmanship in chess" because right now if you asked me "does the lichess community have good sportsmanship" I would instantly say no. But ask me about Hearthstone I have to say yes, because they resolved this issue.
Theres nothing that says they have to give U a rematch if you want it. They just want to play someone different. Its not a big deal. Just go play someone else. And why remove rematch? I've seen it used plenty.
@jchosenone if I wanna play just one match because I don't have more time, or to relax and play a game to entertain myself, I couldn't do it cause it is a best of 3 or 5?
Also you may disactive the chat at settings for don't recieving messages from players when you are playing.
About the anonymous thing, I agree, maybe some people would like play anonymously, but not anonymous rating. If you get discriminated for rating, you will be discriminated for be anonymous maybe. So, for it disactive the chat, but on that I am 100% agree.
About declining the rematch, why would you be obligated to play same person, maybe he just wants another player with more experience, or maybe he want to play a new match with another person, this isn't a tournament why should he/she be obligated to play a second game cause they won or lost (or draw). Also, why terrible behavior? In what time just don't wanting to play a second game is disrespectful, it may be annoying sometimes but it's his or her decision. It isn't a tournament were you play obligated with a person, or if not you lose, it is just an entertainment game or training, etc.
Please don't say things to some players, for don't wanting to play a second match.
I think SlickRick07 is right. That's the attitude to have. Still doesn't mean I haven't gotten angry after losing won games. And when they don't give a rematch... that's when I break things.
