Rematch Button please just remove it.

good point, an abort can be a victory for the person but does not have to effect rating. It can just show that I won. Trolls aren't interested in rating just in saying they're better so that's fine.

as for anonymous it only has to be anonymous until the match is in progress. I'm purely talking about getting to match someone and not wasting time with "oh we just played not gonna play with you again" and furthermore a best of 3 or a best of 5 pretty much solves all of this. That and anonymous until match starts, or losing rating when you're clearly just not trying to play with someone based on username. Obviously a missclick is dumb to lose rating, but i'm not so much interested in rating, this is more to stop people from trolling.

None of those comments change the fact that someone refusing to play based on username is trolling. And if you made it so usernames were anonymous before the match started & or implemented a best of 3 or a best of 5 game mode "option" it's just an optional game mode, it would avoid the fact nobody wants to rematch.

So either remove the button or create a new game mode where that button would actually matter. Because right now, that button is only feeding trolls.

I've thought of it long ago, but have chosen to prove my dominance in the presence of inanimate objects rather than post my insecurities to a non-profit chess server. Lichess ought to test run a "Best of 3, G/3" option in the quickpairing. I'm sure it would be immensely popular and would draw many players from other sites that do not have this option, that are sick of destroying their apartments due to "rematch rage."

I would however, need Lichess to pay me for this idea since I am short of cash. After I finish law school in the next two and a half years (part of my five year plan for self-improvement that includes becoming a super-GM), I will be able to prove in a court of law that though my idea isn't technically copyrighted, deserves financial credit.

I doubt its because of your username, but hey, i dont know what it means. a best of 3 or 5 option would be dope actually. i want swiss tournys also.

IVe never cared for a rematch because i dont get them otb and i analyze most of my online games right after (unless its one of the tournaments).

I think the main reason "best of whatever" isnt a thing is because of the good chance that one side will be over / under rated and it would "mess" with the rating system.

Still it would be a cool option that would make the site stand out more than it already does (hooray for high ratings).

Lets get everybody involved, take chess.com out of business, and do some goddamn swiss tournys also.

it's really not hard to code, and considering tournaments are already a thing as well as like 5 other game modes it's just an easy thing to add. But until then I'll just continue to focus on my rating & pretend the rematch button is not really a thing for lichess players.
