How many cheaters OTB?

Just don't pee "often". Once per move is bad.

Now I'm worried. I like to drink Red Bull to help with focus when playing rapid

Today I talked with a master (over 2000 ELO) who told me in his opinion 30% of people OTB cheat, and in the range 1500-1900 in his opinion this goes up to 60-70%. Seems a lot to me! What do you think? I respect him very much, and I think his opinion is very worthy. Other opinions?
When I play OTB 90 min games I always see people wandering and going to the bathroom, and I never suspected them.

Titled players' opinions are the ones I'm most interested into. I'm not very interested, instead, to the opinions of those who never played FIDE events (don't take it personally, but you've just never been there).
I'm not titled buy I can say people do walk ....around some people actually look for games that resemble their own and steal some ideas from that game and use them in their current position....idk if that's cheating but yea.But if you think someone is suspicious is when they walk out to the toilet when it's their turn and have done that for like 2 times I think that's enough to suspect a player for cheating OTB because why go out two times in one game when it's your time it's Abit sus

I play OTB since 2018 and saw all kinds of suspicious behaviours. Once in a team game the captain of opponent's team, who wasn't playing, made grimaces all the time towards his teammates. ALL THE TIME. That was the most suspicious thing I ever saw, looked like he was suggesting moves. He hadn't to be that strong by the way, because they lost to us anyway xD

In Rapid and Blitz games they cheat with time, moving during your time, and there's nothing you can do about it. I decided to learn to do it myself, so I can defend myself when they do it. Still have to try it.

I've ever been to a kid's tournament...I took my younger brothers to play in their first tournament and apparently a boy who was 11 was playing in the Under 10 category and the coach was behind him like showing him some weird hand signs but the boy was still playing bad moves so I didn't know if the coach was telling him to blunder or something but the boy wasn't getting the hand signs and was being frustrated all the time ...I don't think coaches should be even in the tournament room when a tournament game is on going well that's just me but the coach was really struggling...another thing is rigging games ...my brother won against two players who were from the school that made the tournament happen can you imagine they put that he lost in those two games and gave the two wins to their students so I guess that's another way cheating happens behind the scenes

There're many kinds of cheating and unfair behaviours. I never got the point of "winning" like that. If money were involved I'd understand, but at low levels you don't gain anything, so why? What do you obtain? Rating points in a game? Really, who cares? And online even worse and sadder. I guess some people are pathethic and would do anything for a bit of notoriety.

I understand the coach of your example, he takes money to make the kid go well, but how the parents and their kids agree to do this? I know some parents who teach their kids to play dirty, even. I always disliked much cheaters not only because it's dishonest, but mostly because it's pathethic and stupid.

Cheating in a kid's tournament is the worst kind of cheating because first you've taught that kid it's okay to cheat and maybe they'll even take it to bigger otb tournaments and you're just doing that to show how the kids your coaching are the real deal when they get to the top you wonder how he even got to that rating in the first place it's like when you find a cheater online and now they decide to play a game without cheating the play so bad ...now they have a high rating they got by cheating but if challenged otb they can't show up they only make excuses after excuses it's sad to see people cheating because in the end this is just a game you have fun and pass time with ... people make it so serious and that's why they never learn anything it's pathetic

I can understand kids and people in their teen, but I know adult people who do it. Once online, on Chess.com, I knew a 65 year old man who cheated. He admitted it (only after being banned obviously), but he said he wasn't doing it anymore, still he played super-strong in Daily games (beaten me) and was ridicolous in Rapid... kinda suspicious.

He was an online team leader and he had to be strong, you understand? :( So sad and pathethic, I avoid online teams because they're full of people who want to be heroes in a virtual reality and cheat to obtain it.

I agree. I could maybe be a friend of a cheater, there're worse things in life, but from a chess point of view that person is dead to me, because if he did it once I don't see why he wouldn't try it again.

Yea Cheating is like a drug once you induce it you're addicted I know someone who was in my university Chess club apparently he cheats online so I told him the down side of cheating in chess...he acted like he learnt his lesson a few days later he got banned ....a few days later he starts new account and cheats again I was shocked because I realized he's addicted to cheating
