FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss Will Proceed Despite Lockdown in Latvia

Let's just pretend Scandinavia hasn't put an end to ALL restrictions and has as a result some of the lowest incidences in the world. Baltic countries, don't go the USSR route again!

They wont take vaccines in Baltics. Science wont go far there and people are more scared of the vaccines that are something like 18 times safer than getting a mild case of covid when it comes to heart problems. If you count in all problems the difference is closer to x1000.

My sister who's older than me had covid, her daughter had covid, it was less bad than common cold. My girlfriend had covid it was almost nothing. Then my girlfriend was forced to take vaccine and had flu like symptoms for days. A family I know all had covid including 80 year old grandma, none of them suffered much, it was very light. Then they were forced to take vaccines - daughter 25 now has serious leg pain for three weeks, her mother was very seriously sick for days.

I have read hundreds of scientific papers about covid and covid vaccines, there's hardly anything I don't know. I don't want to take vaccine and don't think it's needed for anyone younger than 50-60 years old.
They are saying people who don't want to take vaccine are dumb. I am working as software engineer and electrical technician by the way - I was top in math and physics in my class at school. I was sent to local mathemathics olympiads.
Call me dumb if that is what they call stupid people.
I don't want to take the vaccine, not by empirical evidence nor any other evidence do I think it's needed for me.
The average covid death in my country (Latvia) equals life expectancy. This is farce, and insane amount of evil. On highest goverment level they are talking about unvaccinated as some sort of group which needs to be exterminated, and they are taking steps towards it - like hindering medical treatement and diagnostics to unvaccinated, firing them from all workplaces, taking away money benefits etc.

I live in Latvia btw - so I am "the stupid people" that won't take the vaccine
you can't go to anywhere but pricy small grocery stores if you don't take the vax
you can hardly get hired anywhere and will get fired from almost anywhere if you don't take the vax - all by goverment mandate
your ability to receive medical treatement is severally hindered if you haven't vaccinated
Now on regular bases we have near third of confirmed covid positive among vaccinated.
I can see how this is all about health

@the_providence, thanks for spreading the word!

The stupid Covid propaganda was never about health.

The best data I have seen about vaccine antibodies suggests that the protection is good for a few months (this is how they passed the clinical trials), but fades away completely in 6 to 12 months. They will probably mandate booster shots forever, one every 6 months, and put billions and billions of $$$$$$$ in the bank accounts of Pfizer and Moderna.

Unfortunately most politicians are bribed and most people are brainwashed.

So significantly less cases with vaccinated people even though un-vaccinated cant even get exposed to it thanks to restrictions? And you do understand that if all people got vaccinated, all cases would be amongst vaccinated people. What a disaster?

Anecdotal stuff is something I always ignore as its not scientific. "My head hurts after a train ride, trains are bad" is the level that just amuses me. Attack the science, dont make a fools out of yourselves.

According to leaked data vaccinated are only 2% of the tested...
Vaccinated don't have mandatory testing almost anywhere.
But thanks I have no interest in long discussions, literally anyone I meet who's on the covid stuff side is a troll in essence, never met a honest discussion on the topic, the discussion is always fruitless, the other side never admits any problem with the narrative, the other side always ignores any point that blatantly exposes lies and cover ups, and exaggarations, the other side always uses most dishonest tactics in discussion, it always boils down to "you are idiot, conspiracy theorist, tinfoil hat" shut up.
I've done it enough, it wastes a lot of time, and I won't do it in this dead thread.

Just if you still didn't get it (I know you did but you might pretend you didn't) - vaccinated in Latvia don't need testing in workplace, don't need testing in admission to hospital, don't need testing at schools (on universities unvaccinated are barred), don't need testing when visiting doctor etc., before lockdown vaccinated didn't need testing for public indoors event (they are shut down for the period of lockdown). These are all the places where unvaccinated need testing, again from leaked goverment document tha vaccinated are only 2% of the tested.
The neighboring Estonia has 56% vaccinated, yesterday they saw more vaccinated deaths than unvaccinated, and regularly their vaccinated deaths are close to the vaccinated.

The people who are brainwashed on the subject rarely waste time posting on forums, so most of the opposition that I get is people with certain agenda who are well aware of the deception invovled, such as they fear they will lose some covid benefits, they fear they will lose their 'work from home' which was enabled by the whole covid concern thing, or they think that covid will help keep their favorite political forces in power etc. etc.

you do have a point with the 'unvaccinated can't get exposed' in theory they do go about less, however most of the infections happen at homes between family members, and second most often place is workplace, people do have to go to work, of course you can also catch it at stores and public transport, so the real exposure rate is probably not that different, my sister most likely caught covid from caughing vaccinated colleague, now she has covid pass for 6 months so won't lose her job until then.
Your point with exposure rate however completely falls flat once you realize that vaccinated are barely being tested, yet can gather third of positive cases while being a little over half of population - clearly vaccinated are still catching virus, clearly they are still spreading virus, etc. none of this makes any scientific sense to do literal genocide on people who don't wish to take vaccine, yet we are on that course

I live in Latvia so I can tell a bit more about what's going on here....

All of that sounds like a biased take on really good policies. Good for Latvia.

Get vaccinated.

thanks for outing yourself as supporter of genocide of a group of people

no I won't get vaccinated because somebody told me to, no more than you will listen to me telling you to get lost and stop trolling

this guy is the perfect example of the common pro-vaccine "discussion" that you get
all you get in response are sneering, taunting, insults and mocking - generally all kinds of trolling
whenever it approaches actual discussion level then the best you get out of those people are some superficial half-arguments that completely ignore most of the facts, when you call out the contradiction then you get either insulted, the point gets simply ignored as if it was never made or you get a barrage of lies in response in an attempt to uphold the point
And I am to believe that these people mean well, and want everbody good and healthy?
Am I to believe that this person under the handle "makumazahn" means well? Does his attitude looks like a well meaning person just attempting to do good?

"get vaccinated" - no you are not going to tell me what to do or what not to do, people who tell you to do something against your will, particularly on the medical level are either criminals or war criminals, it's an actual act of war if they go on and actually attempt to force you - it's a physical attack and should be treated like that

You are going to go out of your way and make my life difficult because I don't take the vax? Well fine so you are going to get a counter reaction as well.
