4 Player Chess

@Je_mappel_M_Ouzbek (
google translate yordamida, shuning uchun bu qanchalik yaxshi bo'lishini bilmayman. O'ylaymanki, bu sizga nima kerak?)

Afsuski, mening tushunchamga ko'ra, shaxmatchi 4ta shaxmatchini (yoki aslida boshqa variantlarni) qo'shishga qiziqmaydi. Server maydoni va kodlashning katta miqdori tufayli ishonaman. Men kodlovchi emasman, lekin agar kimdir uni kodlashni taklif qilsa, litsenziyalar to'rtta shaxmatchini yoki bughouse-ni qabul qiladimi? Siz kabi men ham bu erda to'rtta shaxmatchini ko'rishni istardim, lekin bu bir muncha vaqt bo'ladi deb o'ylamayman.
Whenever (if) lichess plans to add variants again, what is their criteria? What the most people want? then they should add bughouse and 4 chess, though I know that's currently unfeasible. If they have other plans, then other less popular online variants would be wise

Let me shoot straight here: In the world of open source economics, since money (by and large) is not exchanging hands, what drives change is not user demand, but what programmers are willing to implement for free. [1]

There is nothing stopping motivated programmers from, say, making a Lichess-like server for Shogi (Japanese Chess) lishogi.org Or, for that matter, making a Lichess-like server for Draughts games, lidraughts.org Unlike with the purely commercial chess.com, both have been done because motivated programmers took the time and effort to make it happen.

For anyone who wants 4-player chess or other variants, the source code is available. Learn to code and start coding for fun and for free. It will be a lot of work, but the reward of making a valuable contribution to the Lichess community will be greatly appreciated, and it will look great on your resume.

[1] Yes, there is patronage, but hosting something like Lichess is quite expensive. I’ve seen Lichess’s financial documents, and their programmers could make a good deal money working for a commercial company than doing the programming they are doing for Lichess. The lion’s share of money from patrons goes to hosting.
