I know why you said it. You said it to cast present day Ukraine as the Ukraine of WW2, but now you can't when presented with my example of Germany. In effect, you painted yourself into a corner. Just as Putin has, but on an entirely different level

Please elaborate on the facts that have yet to be determined? I'm really interested. Which facts, exactly?

Asking @pkill for facts is like trying to sieve water. He will avoid it , talk around it , make up things or simply keep spamming.

Edit: as you can plainly see from his last post # 31

So I see. Anyway, time for my bed. Tomorrow is another day.

Thanks, by the way.

I understand Ukrainian atrocities at the time. In particular the treatment of Jews, but that doesn't absolve Russia's part in the crime, and the view of Ukraine as a puppet state

Times have moved on, and we no longer hold Germany at fault for the crimes of Hitler. Dredging up the past is a weak argument for attacking Ukraine. And it's not as if Ukraine had any major part to play in the outcome of the war

well put and great analogy. Putin sympathizers keep desperately using similar weak arguments by dredging up the past and I can't believe they don't see this confirms that he has no justifications for this war. They are having the opposite effect of what they intend. wow.

I appreciate your attempt to find a common ground, but the fact of the matter is that there is none to be had.

It seems to me like you've been reading a bit too much biased information. In the interest of fact checking:
a) Russia never made an official attempt to join NATO. This is a matter of public record. The claim that Russia tried to join is a piece of propaganda that is often used by internet trolls to garner sympathy for Russia.
b) I have not heard anything about Ukraine losing interest. If anything, Russia has forced Ukraine to try to join NATO, in order to protect Ukraine from Russia.
c) Russia will not be surrounded by countries in NATO. This is another piece of propaganda being spread by pro-Russian trolls.
Most of Russia is in Asia. The only NATO state in Asia is Turkey.
d) Ukraine, and Ukraine alone, is allowed to dictate Ukrainian policy.
e) Russia is the aggressor in the conflict. There is no fighting on Russian soil. An invasion is a purely offensive action.

Thanks for this info. I admit that I have put some things in this post from what the internet says. Thanks for letting me know.

But Ukrain definitely deserves Independence. The country also has beautiful cultures, Tourist spots, And very kind and caring people who want to be independent. I see nothing wrong about them having independence.
