Every post of OP is screaming and yelling based on the seemingly uncontestable axiom that there's a genocide. No, this position is not sacrosanct and not uncontestable. Not every war crime or violation of international law earns the attribute of genocide.
Hundreds of thousands are already dead. Millions are starving.
You all will say "I was against the genocide" as soon as the true death toll is proved beyond any doubt, when journalists are finally allowed into Gaza.

We're talking about a genocide and all you can contribute is about my blitz rating? Surely you have a moral compass that deserves to be taken into consideration, yes.
No I just pray on my own and don't bother others with my extreme ideas. There are always two sides of a conflict, unfortunately, and that doesn't give you the right to push everyone else onto your beliefs. We don't NEED to be convinced, nor do we WANT to be convinced at the moment. Hold the people in your heart, but your mouth needs not yell and provoke others. You are insulting their memory by doing so. You use extremely strong language, and it's simply unwarranted on a CHESS WEBSITE. Just reconsider your actions, I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to listen to you, we are just not those people. Go play some chess.

Thank you for responding.
There are many things wrong with your response, even though you believe it was as neutral as possible. If you read the statement on the invasion of Ukraine, you'll realize that the position isn't rooted in a decision about chess institutions, it's just an excuse, you justified the statement by the seriousness of what was happening. And even if it were, it would be a hypocritical decision, because you know full well that many people aren't taking a position on this issue (FIDE itself) because Israel has the support of the United States, which remains the world's leading military hegemon. If what Israel is doing had been done by another country without the support of the United States, FIDE would have condemned it long ago.
You have people laughing, justifying and defending genocide in several forum threads, and you haven't taken a single action. Doesn't that break your codes of etiquette, but my thread does? Can you notify @Thibault so he can review this? I can't believe this absurdity is happening on Lichess, and on top of that, a moderator dares to reason about it.
Nobody can really MAKE thibault look at it- he'll take a look if it's actually important, but I highly doubt he cares enough, he's too busy managing the entire site.

To all propalestinensians, why don't you talk about Russia's war in the same breath? Isn't that a much worse genocide?
Your (I mean @lonelypeanut) number magnitudes are absurdly propagandistic as well. Even Hamas claims lower numbers. You talk about millions with plural-s? There's "only" two million people in Gaza. That's slightly off for using the indefinite plural-s in my opinion.

By that I mean more than one million are starving.
The one year old lancet study that estimated over 100.000 dead back then.
The numbers from the Gaza health ministry are just the confirmed dead, meaning positively identified, nobody serious thinks that's the real number.
I'm not discussing this further. You'll be against the genocide too, soon. What a horrible world we're in...

There are always two sides of a conflict: nazis and jews, for example, and that doesn't give the right to push everyone else onto your beliefs, is that how it works?
If you think this is just a platform for playing chess, it's easy for you, just keep playing and stop coming here. You won't stop trying to deny the genocide that's happening because you know what it makes you.

criteria for genocide are very low, easily met in Ukraine.
putin is systematically comitting a l l & e v e r y crime of war with each more contemptuous for human fairness than the previous.
land mines
straybombs
depriving ukrainians diabetes patients of insuline
bombing train stations
bombing civilians dwellings, supermarkets, bus stops, bazars, theaters, museums
chemical bombs
bombing h o s p i t a l s
...
double tap on helpers
manhunt with explosive drones on civilians
forcing ukrainian war prisoners to fight their own fellow soldiers
stealing children and reeducating them (russification) to fight against their own birthcountry
there's lists of those warcrimes on wikipedia

Here again? Why are you writing about topics that have no interest to you? Do you know that you can live without replying to every thread on the Lichess forum?
In this same thread, I took a stand in favor of the statement Lichess made about the invasion of Ukraine. This thread is to ask the Lichess administration for an explanation as to why a thread calling for the same thing to be done with the Gaza genocide was closed without giving any reason. I'm still waiting. I'd also like to ask: are the two active threads on the forum related to the Gaza genocide being lowered even though their most recent replies are more recent than other threads?

This happens to all threads with more than 50 replies.
As I mentioned earlier, Lichess doesn't like threads that lead to nothing good, and since the majority of threads with more than 50 replies tend to fall into this category, Lichess lets them die by automatically disabling the ability to re-up them.
The Lichess forums weren't built with heated political debate in mind.
