Do not create multiple accounts

#46. less windows clutter?... and tab switching... I like visual continuity, do not like tab switching or scrolling. Train of thought continuity, may be fragile with me (not my force).

Do i need to develop? sincerely, i could describe the possible mess.

Edit: this is about text. and content centralization. having chess stuff all together. when i come to lichess (my only online sustained activity remotely social, involving writing), this is a frame of mind. I like to know that when i come back, i don't need to fire this and that. I do use text files for long text, that has some inside structure, but when in lichess, dark background (greenish too with some styling), this is environment redundancy. like state-dependent memory, if that exist. anyway, seemed obvious to me. Another case of uncommon-sense.

Claud didn't pad his ratings by continuously playing new players at 1500 in an effort to farm them to pad his rating. You are comparing apples to oranges in trying to compare him to what you are describing.

While I appreciate the link to the ratings system, and some others may as well, it is not I that doesn't understand how it works and the limitations in it.

300 games won't even get you a 2100 account much less a 3000 account. But, if you use 1 minute games to pad with, it shouldn't take you more than a day or two to prove me wrong. You can NOT pad a 3,000 in 300 games. Not even remotely close. But, if you do it, I will happily admit I am wrong. I wouldn't plan your celebration party just yet.

Your assumption about berserk is also incorrect. What effect berserk has depends on your rating, your opponents rating and whether your opponent berserks or not. If my opponent berserks every time I do, I will not be handicapping myself which directly proves your assumption incorrect.

Today is Thursday, can one reasonably assume you will have the 300 games played to prove me wrong finished by Sunday?

@dboing
Your post makes little to no sense to me. It sounds like you are saying it is more distracting to view a text file while playing lichess to read notes than it is to switch accounts to read those notes. Or something like that. Not really sure.

I see the missing point. I use the other account as a dummy "discord channel" in my lichess inbox. no account switching. never go use the other account.... but for maintenance (maybe) .

new workaround, limited as no threading still, and I will not use cryptic usernames to make threads meant to be most content adressable. defeats the purpose of threads.

For now i use that inbox self-channel, for tentative links to share in real user inboxes or other lichess places (or my backup text files).

I have no intention at all to abuse the multiple account possibility to manipulate a rating. On the contrary, I warn that multiple accounts open a loophole to manipulate ratings.
Bloodgood just let his fellow inmates play against each other and then defeated the highest rated among them. That takes more games than the multiple account scheme as described. Bloodgood played classical time control games as required for an elo rating.

#55 The "loophole" you are supposedly attempting to "warn against" simply doesn't exist. And that would explain why you can't exploit it. It begins with your false assumptions about ratings and how to pad an account. It simply can't be done on lichess. If it can, the fastest way to get that exploit closed is to show that it can be done.

Attempting to bring Bloodgood into a discussion that has nothing to do with him or what he did doesn't help support your argument, it detracts from it.
