@hal9k , everyone is innocent until proved otherwise.
Everyone can be a cheater ( that include you and me). Saying 50% of correspondence players are cheaters is a bit rude to those community though. :(

What are the inclusion criteria for https://lichess.org/player/top/200/correspondence? I have an established rating and should be #117 but I'm not listed.

Being able to use an opening book has helped me tremendously (note the spread between my rapid and correspondence ratings), as well as has having time to really think about positions. Now I have a 2000+ rating which will plummet if I try to play without using the opening book. I feel like I need to keep using the Lichess opening book to avoid getting marked as a sandbagger.
I really struggle with correspondence chess and balancing my use of the opening book. I've switched to unrated games because it felt like I was cheating. I sometimes wonder if the opening book shouldn't be available in rated correspondence games, and Lichess should continue to indentify engine users (they may mark engine users in correspondence, but I'm not sure).

@ConsoleCowboyBebop , I am not surprised about the massive difference beween your live chess rating vs corresp rating. In Corresp chess, one player always have massive advantage with
- opening books ( some books are 35+ moves deep)
- Asistance with physical board for analysis
- How much time they spend ( 1 min per move, 1 hour per move or 1 day per move).
Additionally, one player can get benefits from time out of opoonent.

@hal9k you think half of the correspondence players are cheating? Definitively no! There are cheaters of course as in every time control system but it is very rude againgst correspondence player
@dfranke I read there are some criterias, one of them if I correctly remember a result in a week or so. But cannot find this again. But looks strange to me. By the way: You are invited to play against me.
@drmrboss Both players have the advantage. However, the intentions to prefer correspondence chess differ. Some of them try new openings, ideas and so on. Some want to strenghten their analysis capability. And so on.
