I prefer Sicilian with black, so I believe the English would be more favoured in my case. Also, stockfish plays c4 as the first move with white, cool right? d4 is a really solid opening as well.

It's more important what you play after that, but as a rule 1.d4 is better. When I was facing opponents with a similar rating to mine and they played 1.c4 it meant 0-1. When they were well above my rating they won. With 1.d4 it wasn't like that.

It's very unusual that you like London System and Evans Gambit as white, because they are totally different openings. The London is like "please don't hurt me" and the Evans is like "check out my gladiator torso."
