These days I am playing d4 a lot. The English Opening also comes to my mind sometimes. But the main question is which opening is better for a 1700 rated player like me?
e4 is better if you know the theory.
@HemaWorst I am bored playing e4 now that I am higher rated.
I loved e4 when I was 1300 and 1400 rated player.
If playing e4 is boring for you then chess is boring for you. I am a bit higher rated than 1400 and i am not bored if i play e4, i can assure you.
Why not 1. g4!!
D x 4 is better than C x 4 (multiply)
G4 is perfect for all people who have promissed never to castle kingside ;-)
@royalblue04 if e4 then what do you prefer - Ruy Lopez or the Italian?
