But how to disable takebacks in settings
You go to Preferences > Game behavior > Takebacks (with opponent approval)
Then you set it to : "Never"

Anyway, I set the parameter to "Never" because I only play fast rated games. This whole process of taking backs can waste precious seconds on my clock (the same way, I always auto promote to Queens - though I know it can lead to stalemate sometimes).

If you give a takeback, your time is refunded it will be set back to before it all happened.

I never accept takebacks even if it is obvious that it's a misclick. Takebacks don't exist in real chess, so no matter how much my opponent pleads and pleads for a takeback because of an obvious misclick, I never accept takebacks.
In real chess you cant misclick. i dont wont to win by a misclick.

Nothing to do with rating points.
I don't like it because it disrupts the flow of my thoughts.
It's online chess. So you have to be careful while entering your moves, it's part of the "ONLINE" chess.
It might be even better for Lichess to disable it during rated games (rated = serious).
I am convinced high rated people doesn't have this problem.
If they did a mouse slip, they assume, they resign (if they are in a lost position) and move the next game if needed.
Time is too precious to be wasted on taking moves back.
One can analyze the game alone afterwards if he wants to know more about the move he intended to do.
If one is grieved over a lost game because of a mouse slip, he should get better at chess instead, because one loss shouldn't really matter if you really know your value.
Your right.

But it interrupts my thoughts, I am no more in the flow, and I don't like that. If I played against a 3 year old may be, but not online.

It depends on the time control.

Hi I have been at lichens for a fair time but 1 question I haven't got answered. "should I accept or decline take backs." I dont want to go the wrong way and lose lots of games, in what cases should you accept or decline and what do you do.
Defiantly disable takeback request. It spoils the game otherwise.

You have to try to accept them most of the time but also decline!
