When its obvious misclick then you should accept takebacks, like moving the king 1 square towards rook instead of castling. Otherwise not.
If you decide to never allow takebacks then please disable takebacks all together in game settings. But should you decide to disable takebacks, any misclick you make will mean an undeserved loss.

I've heard people say you should only do takebacks in casual.

I accept them on obvious mouse-slips, but otherwise not

I never accept takebacks even if it is obvious that it's a misclick. Takebacks don't exist in real chess, so no matter how much my opponent pleads and pleads for a takeback because of an obvious misclick, I never accept takebacks.
yeah but misclicks dont exist in real chess either

@aahanrpatil , if it looks like a move that isn't a mouseslip, like u lose a piece in 2 moves and it isn't very obvious, AND the most important, if he doesn't send it immediately, then u can decline takeback, but if he hangs his queen when he moved with it, you should accept it

Don't listen to those people that say "it's not real chess if you accept takebacks". I'm sorry but that's dumb. I can understand the logic but guys chess is a GAME. Furthermore this is not OTB chess, this is online chess and most of us aren't pros, you should play for fun. If all that matters to you is your rating or if you win or lose then you miss out on actually enjoying the game. Sometimes the opponent makes a stupid mistake, not even a mouse slip, and you give him a takeback just so you can have an awesome game, you might even lose, it's not a big deal. I'm not acting like I always accept takebacks but I definitely consider every offer. And I almost never ask my opponent for takebacks, so I am not doing expecting something in return, the only thing I expect is an interesting game.

When you play unrated game, you can accept.
When you play rated, you don't.
If you play always rated games, you should disable take back in your preferences.
Most chess server don't have this option (event those that have multi premove, lol).

Too much if ... lol Calculating moves have already a lot of "if". Better decline all the time.

im using a way that stops me from mouse slips. I'm disabling takebacks, they just make you lose and make your opponent win with just a press of a button. That is so not chess. Why would you accept a take-back and lose rating points or just lose a game. Im better of disabling takeback in my settings , Who agrees with me?
