What to do after 8...f5

In this line of the Scandinavian Defence I have studied 6...Bh5 in detail and a bit of 6...Bxf3. After 8. Bd3 I was expecting 8...Nf6, when I would castle kingside and then play Bg5, and a later c4, but sometimes people come up with minor openings such as 8...f5. I haven't studied 8...f5. How do you refute 8...f5 or get at least an advantage as big as the 6...Bh5 line?

It's because white has played badly

It's very common for people to think they need to respond to their opponent's move/plan. There's tons of puzzles I do where the IM's or GM's players missed the best reply and instead focused on their opponent's move. I do the same thing in my games.

Your opponent's plan is to block your attack with 11...Nd5 so I need to get rid of that knight seems very logical.

But ignoring their move and playing 12.Qe2 threatening mate in one would've been crushing.

... f5 DAFUQ!

Sentenced for 30 years in chess prison!

No analysis. This hurts too much.

PS: the e-file, square e5, no development, weakening e6 - brrrr! What about a beginner's book?

f5 was a big blunder (advantage: +7). Stockfish wants to play Qe2 and then take on e6
