I am so sick of players with the black pieces aborting the game before making a move. EVERY time that happens, they should be banned for a week, and then 2 weeks and then a month, and then forever

I'm pretty sure it's down to Lichess deciding you could no longer specify white or black when getting paired. This means if wanting to practice a specific white/black opening half your games are wasted in terms of learning new line.
I'll add that aborting I think is pointless since from what I can gather you just get paired with another black in the next game

They are temporarily banned (which is why this doesn't happen more often), but yeah, I agree that the punishment should be much more severe.

Lifetime ban for four aborted games? Feels like a not very good idea.
I also do not fully understand in general how nonsensical play just out of frustration is considered better than ending games early.

In bullet I don't want to wait 20 seconds for my opponent to move. 5 or 10 would be more reasonable. So I often abort, since either they are not going to play or they are hoping the delay will gain them a few seconds, both are unsporting. I never got penalised yet !

I would at least like my next game after to be white as well as the game that was abandoned. Infuriating to lose my chance of playing white.

No if you don't have the option to choose what you play beforehand imo aborting should not be punished as harshly
Before, when you could choose what you wanted to play, your idea would have been more justified and nobody's time would have been wasted

What does that even mean? I've never heard anyone claim that ever, and I don't even know what you're trying to say. Besides, how does that even apply to you since all games are nonsensical at your level?

Task: <<Do not abort games because aborting games is bad and will be punished!>>.
According to forum search the original text is
<<Warning XYZ aborting too many games will result in temporary ban".>>
How to fulfill task: Keep playing, that DOES NOT mean "keep playing as sensible as you can when you are down several pieces, completely lost and completely frustrated".
Why playing anything and not ever aborting games is considered better I do not understand.
