@QueenRosieMary you think that’s because your a woman? It’s because your playing online chess. I run into weirdos trash talking me all the time. It’s the same for any online game, its got nothing to do with you being a woman
Read the Lichess blog which @QueenRosieMary linked before you keep churning out this garbage. It ́s got nothing to do with online chess, it ́s about OTB tournaments at a high level. And it has everything to do with being a woman and not a man.

Whereas Nigel Short considered Judit Polgar to be one of the 3 or 4 greatest chess prodigies of all time.
Btw - who on earth is Paul Murphy?

Well said, although it should be so obvious no one should have to say it. Trash talking ≠ sexual harassment...
The Lichess blog I linked is indeed about harassment at OTB tournaments, my blog is about sexual harassment of female players in online chess, two different faces of the same problem.

oops I confused the two sisters Susan and Judith... but they have the same talent and the same gigantic involvement in the world of chess. I talked about modern because if you go back to Morphy, don't forget that the situation was not the same. Fischer also had chess as a vocation, and even though his mother did not play chess, she encouraged him to follow this vocation, like Kasparov and Polgar.

@Wasted_Youth the entire blog was mostly about online chess. The very first paragraph is about how she’s reported 5 players in the last couple of months for harassment. That’s got nothing to do with her gender

Sexual harassment predominantly happens to women, no matter what you'd like to believe. I myself have gotten many proposals these last couple months, and I'm not even well-known for doing anything. The only reason - literally the only reason - is because my username sounds feminine.
Now I don't mind proposals so much - even the more graphic ones - except for the fact that I get them repeatedly after saying no, and that every time I block them they make a new account and continue. Now am I suggesting that Lichess isn't doing enough? Of course not! But I do think there should be some sort of mindset change, where harassment becomes less common.

In this dumpster fire of a forum the moment someone posts something it gets immediately downvoted by beta male incels. This is why I stopped posting in this trash forum. No room for open discussion.
No room for open discussion = no one is agreeing with you so far?
Bunch of 13 year old redditors trapped in adult body.
Dude, you are complaining that some people are born with talent, and that some aren't. I don't see what there is to complain about, everyone has a different talent.
Not to mention - Beethoven wasn't a prodigy, yet we know him today as a prolific composer. How did that come about? Practice and hard work.
Don't use talent to justify things.
