As above , I’m completely sick of sporadic cheaters that are using engine for 80% of moves but not the other 20% it’s sickening to me that they can get away with it and the cheat detection can’t catch them , this is the whole damn problem ........... no one knows how much cheating going on ....... no one knows . I’m really cross , upset and exasperated xxx it’s effing obvious to me but no one can prove it ..... no one knows so sad . Yes I’ll get a lot of haters saying I’m para ,I don’t care cheat detection has no way of knowing sporadic cheaters

Can't you form or join a team and work together to filter out the dishonest players? That's what I would do. With random pairings, you don't know who you will get. Even when there isn't cheating, you have these one trick ponies. They are really good in one opening and not others. So, they don't raise their rating and at the same time they play like a GM with that one line. You then multiply that by thousands online, and you might be experiencing players who simply know a different line of play.
So, they aren't cheaters, they just aren't risk takers like you might be who want to get better in different areas. I found it interesting that looking at the TCEC games going on now, I tend to agree with a lot of what they are playing. The difference lies in the human veering off and playing suboptimal moves. Then both players have to figure a way around it which makes things much more confusing. Perhaps these players are used to the suboptimal variations.

@SOJB stop worrying about if your opponent is cheating.. it doesn't matter , sure it happens ,focus on why your losing and its not because stockfish, you will actually play better , calculate clearer when you stop caring if your opponent is cheating. focus on the game, train weak areas, chess is a long frustratingly beautiful game... but if the games no longer fun take breaks

You just said a load of stuff I don’t understand what I’m saying is they are using an engine putting in one or two moves wrong then their engine re calculates their next best move , I don’t think it would be to difficult to fool the system is what I’m saying .......

So you know that cheaters are using engine for 80% of moves, but not the other 20%, yet you don't know how to catch them?
And how do you know that cheat detection can’t catch them?
I mean that's quite a few bold statements right here, what are they actually based on?

Ok, I looked at your profile to see if I could spot something in your games. And you know what? They are classical standard games!!!
Why on earth are you worried about cheating when you are accepting these long time controls with random players? I highly suggest with time controls of 15+ you know the people you are playing. Stick to random and blitz with the faster time controls.

You’ve already given me my answer , I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’ve apologised if you think the cheat detection system catches sporadic cheaters then that’s great. But really if you were honest no one knows how much cheating there is ....... I mean no one knows .... how could anyone know ? xxx
