@Itsmidnight Races and colours are different things, you know. Actually you didn't but you now know.

@anonpuzzlessuck You seem extremely confused and possibly not understanding anything of what's being talked about. Even if you do understand you have some serious issues communicating your concerns.

@anonpuzzlessuck so I'm confused because you are confused about what I am saying? You see how your experience is not mine and mine is not yours. You not being able to understand speaks to how difficult it is to be get any respect for my culture, background and experience. Thank you for illustrating this.

Michuk - I can't pretend to understand what you've faced or how you feel as a Black man, being a White, American woman, myself. But I want to say I welcome you to Lichess and wish you best of luck as a chess player. I also am sorry that anyone has made you feel you don't belong here and that anyone has ever behaved in a racist or hate-filled manner. If you enjoy chess, keep playing and know there will be those who welcome you, even as you face hate.

@Itsmidnight i was joking around about your misconception. i am not a racist, i am actually a minority in my own country. it might not be the best place to joke around but it is my style. there was a guy who told "the guy was whining about white gm's existence" and i called him uneducated for not understanding the guy and just humiliating him. i called you uneducated too but it was a joke, if you didn't understand i am sorry but it is not my problem.

like, I dont get what actually is the problem. black people are as welcome as any other race to play chess. if you are experiencing racism in chess clubs, it is not that chess is unfair to you, it is the toxic people around you that make you feel unwelcome. Also, @michuk can you give me an example on how the chess community is racist?

@anonpuzzlessuck just a friendly reminder - it can be really hard for people to tell if someone is joking online. It may not be your problem, per se, that others fail to recognize the joke, but especially on subjects like this you'd be wise to choose words more carefully and maybe make judicious and wise use of emojis, which do serve a purpose. 🙂
