Why quit when you can get better at it?
Exactly! Why quit smoking when you can smoke more?! (This is a joke)

I had the same issue I found the reason I was playing bullet was because I was scared of losing rating on my rapid and blitz. Thus, I switched to a more casual mode, bullet. What makes it worse is that bullet is very stimulating and therefore, addictive. I managed to stop progressively by just not playing chess for a while online, I played irl at college with friends and that non-rated play revived my love for rapid/longer games. Eventually I came back not fearing losing rating as much, therefore playing more rapid and blitz rather than bullet.
I still play bullet, however, not primarily and not as an addiction. Rather I play it when I'm about to leave the site as a way to end the session in a more casual/fun tone.

Will it bring us progress?
never no...
It can sometimes achieve good results for chess, but not always

Guys same issue with me i am stuck at 2500 elo for 6 months,so i want to play rapid but my dumb mind thinks that i can reach 2600 in a day so it clicks in 1+0,btw if you look at my profile since 15 days i have played bullet everyday.Bullet is exremely addictive and also not letting me reach my goals and frustation, its like something you dont want to do but your mind wants

I should quit correnspondence chess and reduce time spent online, as it disrupts my sleep. Being primarily an OTB player, I feel an urge to play quickly, and thus spend too much time online or thinking about the games.
