Chessdotcom players (good at positioning), lichess(better at tactical), played at both sites
No actual evidence to prove that. (Unless you have any)
I play on both sites, but mainly chess.com now since I brought premium and I don't want to waste that

Both. I've been playing more on chess.com lately because their swiss tournament system works much better than the one here. Very few non-moving/afk players so you actually get to play games (imagine that).
Haven't noticed any difference in play type (positional vs tactical), just the rating difference due to the way each site rates players (I'm 1500-1700 here and around 1100 there).

I was wondering how many of you also play on chess.com/? Is this a different pool of players or largely the same people on a different site?
I have not played a rated game on chess.com for 6 months but I still visit the site regularly
I used to play there. I quit a few years ago for many reasons.

@hisokaxhunter How on earth do you know (arrive at your conclusion) that C.C players are better at positional chess than Lichess players and Lichess players are better tacticians that those playing at C.C?
That's a good question. But there will be no good answer.
Ive no idea whether Im a tactical player or a positional player.
Do you prefer gambits or London system? Do you sac sometimes to open lines or defend each pawn like there is no tomorrow?
Is there another site I can play on where all the players are hopeless at positional and tactical chess so I have a better chance of winning?
No but on this site you can play with a bad tactical player -> pointlesswindows.

I used to play on chess24, and then switched to chess.com because they were more popular. However, I never liked their commercial focus or many of their features. And it seemed too much like the Catholic church - confess your sins, repent and we'll take you back anytime!
Then some players told me about lichess. I was reluctant to try yet another site but once I did there was no contest. For me, lichess is superior and it's the only site on which I play now.

@pointlesswindows I play the London, badly, Run Lopez, worse despite many many games.. the Caro Kann as black (Im very predictable to play against) although Ive had some success with it.. gambits? Don't play them as a rule because I don't know any and its risky enough playing game systems Im used to :-)
The biggest gambit is actually clicking on the play button in the lobby TBH.
Lastly, should we ever play, if you'd be kind enough to play bad tactically, i'll see if I can play bad positionally :-)

1500 in chess.com is like 1800 in lichess so

I play both. I love the arenas on lichess, and also the interface is much more superior. But its easier to find 30 minute game on the other site since it has like 5x the number of players. If lichess had the same number of players as cc then it would be hands down better.

I do. I appreciate them less and Lichess more all the time. They do, however, have a well functioning daily (correspondence) chess setup than does Lichess.

Sounds like someone has sins to confess..
