So saying so much, who can tell me exactly the difference between ban and shadow ban in short?

Which law they break? from none to many, depends on the countriy's specific legislation
Ok, thank you.
So your issue is more like they should better respect guidelines, not that they're currently breaking any law.

I have made your question to a moderator so as to have the official answer, we are waiting for the response.
@DuBiOuSikUn An interesting film from a certain perspective it deals with shadow ban and its consequences.

You could watch the movie until you get your answer from the moderator, may be you have time for hundred of movies, who knows lol.
Shutter Island ... Oh, my ... I never put that one together ....
I don't know if Lichess imposes a shadow ban, but I agree with some of your points @Artem-Kozirev. From an ethical point of view, I do not support shadow banning. Even if they are effective. Chat banning, or banning in general is fine, as long as it is communicated.

Lichess makes no bones about using shadowbans and its probably the lesser evil to reduce the amount of ban evasions this way.
Usually, whenever an argument is like "it is the lesser evil to do such", it tends to be a slippery slope :)
@sgtlaugh
Officially lichess has applied shadow bans, this link below in 16:00 proves that. Nevertheless that video is from 2017, I do not know what is the reality today. I have requested an official position to a moderator and we are waiting for the answer.
Here is an interesting link, it is long but worth https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0267364923000018
In my view imposing a ban without communicating to the user violates the right to a defence and fair trial so it is a violation of a human right. Also shadow bans are more steps towards a society under control of machines and algorithms (AI without any kind of values or with the wrong ones as imperfect as its creators) that will judge our human imperfections reducing mankind to total slavery. People who support that sooner or later will fall under their own sword. He who kills by the sword dies by the sword ...The lesser evil argument is for an extreme situation of do or die, war, pandemies, catastrophes. There are multiple alternatives to shadow ban for the platforms but none gives so much control without facing consequences as shadow ban, it complies with a golden rule of the art of war which is become invisible to your opponent specially when you have bad intentions impunity is granted.

@Artem-Kozirev I do not know if Lichess applies it today. In any case, I do agree with your points regarding shadow ban and do not support it myself

Free speech does imply someone has provide you a platform to practice free speech. Merely that you allowed to express your opinions. Nor it means you were free of consequences if you use freedom breaks laws or for instance terms of service.
