Yes, chess.com I guess is the best site to improve, but lichess is for those who want to play chess casually and improve slowly but not spend money.

For a long time I played on Chess.com without a membership, and my experience was still phenomenal. I play on both Lichess and Chess.com, but mostly I use Chess.com. Lichess is still an amazing site nonetheless.
