Black Lives Matter

@Iubar -- First of all, I would appreciate it if you did not call me a "troll". Be respectful, please, as this is supposed to be a civilized debate + we are each entitled to civilized opinions.

In response to your question (which I thought I addressed in my initial post): Imho, picking ONE human rights issue over others does turn the matter political. (Unless there are some genuine criteria at play here, hence my subsequent request for clarification). And Lichess specifically stated this is NOT about politics, but rather human rights.
"Why don't you support issue X instead" But this is not a platform that should be reminding us where and what for to contribute if not related to chess. I agree we live in a sick society, but being reminded me of that everywhere I go does not make me feel any better.
Lichess! You messed up and supported a POLITICAL ORGANIZATION called "Black Lives Matter." which is NOT THE SAME as supporting equality or the struggle for black people's rights.

It is possible to support Equality and justice for everyone without supporting this subversive political organization.

As an American living in America, I can assure you that millions of Black people in America also do not support this subversive political "Black Lives Matter." organization.

In about half the cities, they managed to create an antagonistic view of police and society - which leads to aligning with many violent and criminal groups. They encouraged breaking curfew law designed to protect peoples lives and property.

They promote a RACIAL FOCUS - instead of protesting illegal police restraining tactics against suspects.

Since Floyd's death 11 Black more people have died as a result of these protests.

I stand against BLM, as a radical racial and political organization that uses tactics that will divide us and make society lose its focus.
Why doesn't Lichess talk about Childhood diabetes in South-Western Indonesia? Or The Namibian Genocide of 1904?

My friend Roger tried to get a burger with no onions the other day, and OF COURSE when he gets it, the thing is just PACKED with onions. Like, more onions than Burger! And, by the time he discovers it, he's already pulled out of the drive-through, and what's he going to do? Go back, and wait in the line to complain? Nothing you can do at that point! Did Lichess have anything to say about THAT? Of course not!

Pure hypocrisy from Lichess IMO.
@Lonerdruid -- I also hold (as I've stated in my initial post) that #AllLivesMatter.

I totally understand that #BLM is a hot topic right now, in light of the Floyd case. I respect that, and do NOT condemn Lichess for bringing it up now.

But imho Lichess should either undertake to respond with equally prompt announcements when it comes to other human right violations OR completely refrain from engaging with any of them. (Again, unless there is are criteria and a decision process they use to justify their choice of a human rights issue over another... in which case I am very curious to learn about it.)
Interesting way of putting it @bebekof. However I dont think its wrong to support such a movement, but I do agree that we have to be very careful about making it about just one color (as you say and i agree we end up making the whole thing about racism rather than making it about equality) The issue here is that there is a lot more power in making something about one thing (easier to focus on) and might yield better results in trying to combat the bigger picture. But in doing so i feel like we very often lose track of what the bigger picture is yes! This whole conversation is actually a very interesting one, but I don't think any of us should be focusing on this or that and who's right and who is wrong.
> But imho Lichess should either undertake to respond with equally prompt announcements when it comes to other human right violations OR completely refrain from engaging with any of them.

Pashut, do you hold everyone to that standard or only lichess? Because if it is everyone, it sounds to me like you never want to anyone to speak up about any human rights violation, since it is simply impossible to speak up about *everything*.
@Pashut I call people trolls, when they troll (which you are doing). Which in this case you are doing, because you are trying to not argue about the issue itself, but instead try to say 'whataboutthis'. So you are trying to hide your opinion and try to sound like you have no interest and just trying to help lichess stay 'not political', instead of just saying your own opinion.

But well to answer your 'argument': Well it's clearly about human rights here, because the human rights is a paper you can read here: www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/ and the movement BlackLivesMatter are demanding exactly those rights. So whats the problem? Yeah there are other human rights violations in the world and that is bad also.
