By the way, I wonder what it is that women excel in by nurture..there must be something even if their numerous equal partner holds them down in all things measurable...
I've only read the first few pages of comments, but here are a few observations:
1. People saying that sexism no longer exists or isn't an issue... so all of the testimonies of people who have experienced it are all lies then? Just because you haven't personally experienced it, and just because things might be overall better than they were 50 or 100 years ago, doesn't mean you can just deny it exists. A lot of people have consistent experiences of this sort of thing, so you can't just ignore that.
2. Complaining that it's "political" - well if being against discrimination (sexism and racism) is "political" and 'pandering to the left', then maybe 'the right' is just wrong? This is just common human decency. If your politics tells you that black people and women are inferior, then your politics are wrong. Period.
By the way, in the West it is far more easy to get trainers and support for a girl than boy. But even that, nor special competitions and prizes, can make girls achieve even remotely close to the best of the boys.
TL;DR
FACT 1: We are living in 2020.
FACT 2: In the west, men and women have equal opportunity to pursue whatever activity they want.
Talking about oppression?
Try living in a 3rd world country then talk to me about oppression.
You westerners have it way too nice, smooth and secure that you've ended up completely trivializing the concept of oppression.

One more thing - some people seem to be using a strawman argument by claiming that people are saying that men's and women's brains are exactly identical and have no physical differences.
Literally no one is saying that. The article itself even goes out of its way to say that is not true.
The real argument is that there is no scientific evidence that any of those differences have anything to do with chess playing ability.
Great article. I think it needs to be said and repeated often and I'm glad to see Lichess promoting it.
