Bishop pair, pawn- and squareweaknesses.

Just played a fine positional game, where I won a pawn, and slowly improved my position. It also shows an interesting moment where a human can disagree with an engine.
Positional themes : simplification, isolated pawn, queen side pawn majority, active endgame king.

I wanted to win without castling as a handicap but since I did not tell my opponent it was not a handicap, some benoni
not sure if its positional theme or tactical theme, or perhaps
its not theme at all I just think its good for the collection,
now since Im advanced beginner I can only teach, show beginners so I know my games might be obvious for strong players but they may be good for others since there is a long rating curve,
I just dont have the level now for advanced chess, I do what I can, no more
everybody has to try to show what can do no, so that there is more chess knowledge
I have also some technical issues with the browser, seems they have changed the link, im gonna stop using internet explorer
because it does not seem good.

a more clueless game, I guess the theme is attacking on the kingside trapping a minor piece, its a cool final position
like u gotta use ur pieces no, thats what I mean
like if the position has a "drawish" nature or closed but uve got
plenty of pieces, then u might try to advance some pawns like I did h pawn and f pawn to put further pressure in the position
instead of playing in the center, the center is done so u go for the kingside, the queenside is closed so u attack no

Did you watch the Hou Yifan - Short match games ?
In one of the games Short won a pawn with white, but then was almost desperate about trying to find a winning plan.
And then ... he decided for a king walk, and won the game.

I enjoyed looking at that game, and of course I was thinking about the "immortal" king walk game Short-Timman as well.

Here a game I just played, where my opponent nicely sacrificed the exchange, and then I went for a long king walk, which suddenly turned out to be winning, out of the blue, with a simplification tactic.

The king walk by Short in the Short-Timman game is, by now, perhaps the most famous king walk game in chess history.

Years ago I was already interesting in king walk games, mainly because of the chess curiosity books by Tim Krabbe.

See here my tribute to Tim Krabbe :

Having said that, GM Nigel Short also contributed some interesting opening ideas, there's a few lines in the Caro-Kann, of which Nf3+Be2 is the most well known, but there's also the quick Ne2 line, which can be very tricky for black, if black responds with auto-pilot moves.

Here a game which was all about open files as theme.
I was playing lots of ugly games with mistakes earlier today, but in this game I played pretty good, and noticed that white played some "default" moves, which were not the best, and I could take advantages of that.
After white's 20.Ra1-d1 I realized that white cannot easily invade through the open file, so ... I could just go forward by opening the a file. In the mean time white tried to open the h file as well!
Later on, I had the feeling that there had to be a win, but I could not find it. The move turned to be there however, 26...Rxb3!!
