Thanks @MorningCoffee - I'll take 30 likes! I like the Karpov game too - Nb1 isn't a winning move but it's so logical with hindsight.

I was very impressed with the Eljanov game - I really rate him as a player, especially after the 2015 World Cup.

theme:knight vs bishop

This hilarious game actually features a novelty at move 2, believe it or not.
After 1.d4 Nf6 2.e3 I thought that my opponent was one of those cheesy players that always go d4+f4 so I had a stroke of genious and I played 2...Ne4 (novelty) in order to meet 3.f4 with 3...e5! threatening Qh4+.
Ok none of that happened, in the endgame with Q+N vs Q+B black just has to choose which of the 32 lightsquares will he use to win the game

King safety, pawn wedge, pawn advancements, simple moves and development, prophylaxis (25. Kh1!!).

This is one of my favorite opening themes to play where I put my knights on e2 and c3, play g3 fianchetto, castle, make a queen+bishop battery, play h3 f4 and kingside pawn storm. This was a 10m+30s game where my opponent basically ignored whatever I was doing the whole game and got into lots of trouble quickly that is very difficult to solve.

an average game with a nice endgame,
theme: queen trade and bishop pair, inspired by berlin defence
its technical chess a grind, I suppose

In this game I decided to sacrifice bishop+knight for rook + pawn, with the idea that the development of the white pieces would be somewhat difficult, and hoping that my rooks would dominate.
Such material imbalances can be difficult to play with in some positions and I consumed a bit too much time. Then the game transposed to a typical amateur level style theme : a piece (bishop or knight) versus a few pawns.
In my game I got quite a lot of pawns for the piece (bishop) but failed to proceed towards a win.
Nevertheless I thought the game was pretty interesting.

@Puzzletraining #67
That was a pretty good game overall.

Two questions, what was your plan with c3c4 ?
And did you consider d5d6 here ?

d5d6 does not look very promising for white, but such moves can be quite annoying to deal with in such positions.

That was the hardest move achja, I just saw a lot of options there
and if you check, the time spent by moves I suddenly realized I had to move anyway, so I bulleted, it could not be a horrible move so, my plan was to save time it was a practical decision more than a tactical one.
No I did not consider d6 on 12.

to elaborate a little further
I did not see many drawbacks to that move, just the light bishop diagonal (a6)
and the "weakening" on b3 so but its hard to attack by black
I did missed rook a4 though, now my attention was more in the kingside
so my hindsight told me It could not be the best move,
I was thinking things like rook e1 what if black plays f6 that kind of
stuff and even things like h5, or light bishop maneuvering
so instead of pushing more my attack I played a somewhat, "passive"
move which in practise gave me time which is what I needed in that moment
to think further, it also kind of shutted up the queenside,
it kind of stopped all play for black, like maybe my most important weakness
was my isolated advanced pawn and by playing that against a beginner
newbie, because I played a new player,
(I have some technical problems now not sure in some months I could
strive to play players of my level 1800-1900)
but as I was saying I was thinking more about f6 or stuff like that
rook e1 so on.
the thing is that I was also thinking rook d1, rook c1, I just saw many things that I did not know what to play, so I moved, but I missed rook a4 so is not that good although I admit its a hard move to spot.
Trying to avoid analysis paralysis a key idea.
