As i see things, all those concepts like piece value, center control, king safety and many more are not telling the truth, but are like useful handrails for people learning to walk in the uncharted terrain, helpful at first, but hindrances later on.
Yes they are heuristics.

You could also put a number on the king equal to half the difference between the evaluation and the sum of the piece values, half because both kings would reasonably contribute.

@TotalNoob69 the function takes about 2min to fully load, can you make it faster by any chance? Otherwise I am completely satisfied.

In this position, the c pawn (white) is worth 91.6

You can specify the depth like "/piecevalue 14" or get a more powerful computer. I am running a computer analysis for each piece after all.
And I guess without the c-pawn, Black has a passer that cannot be attacked by pawns and can be protected by the rook, so either it or the other two pawns queen.

I may be stupid, but I can't make it work. When I type /piecevalue it just shows up in the research bar.

Love your continued work on this wonderful plugin. Is there a way to remove the values again and revert pieces to normal after using this command?

@ChessPDX the values are just painted over the board, they are not persistent. Move back and forth or do anything to redraw the board and they are gone.
