Our Game of the Month October Contest is underway: Share your best Lichess standard game played in October 2024 until 5 November! The winner will be announced on 14 November, followed by a blog post with commentary on the game.

The second of six FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2024-25 tournaments starts at 10:00 UTC in Shymkent, Kazakhstan! Follow all the games in our broadcast until 8 November, as GMs Tan Zhongyi, Aleksandra Goryachkina, Koneru Humpy and others try to earn points for the WGP Series.

Congrats FM @Ragehunter, the clear winner of our 2024 Autumn Marathon, with a 61% win rate in 454 games, 359 points ahead of 2nd placed CM @Statham_13! Thanks to all 20,555 registered users who played a total of 219,733 games. The next Marathon will take place on 28th December.

The Novy Bor Chess Club, with GM Vidit Gujrathi on board 1, won the European Chess Club Cup 2024. Tajfun ŠK Ljubljana, led by GM Nana Dzagnidze, won the Women's section. GM Arjun Erigaisi, who earlier crossed the 2800 mark in the live ratings, couldn't stay above 2800 after two draws in the final games.

Congratulations to IM Toivo Keinänen for winning our Titled Arena October! He overtook eventual runner-up GM Sergei Zhigalko in the end, who was leading for a long time! GM Oleksandr Bortnyk took 3rd place.
