If 18-year-old Gukesh D wins this match he would become the youngest ever World Chess Champion, shattering Garry Kasparov’s record by 4 years! This highly anticipated best-of-14 classical games match has a time control of 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment starting from move 41. With a staggering prize fund of US$2.5 million, each player earns US$200,000 for each game won (including forfeits), while the remaining prize pool is split equally.
