We at www.ChessBus.org would be very interested in forming a Placement Chess League and even sponsoring some cash prize events in our favorite chess variant.

It is unclear how we go about running tournaments using lichess and pychess. Any help much apppreciated.

If you just want to organize/create/play placement chess arena tournaments, I can give you (or some others you want) tournament creator rights on pychess site.

If you plan to organize/create/play any other formats you can use lichess to do organization and administration (similar how creazyhouse WC happens rn in https://lichess.org/team/crazyhouse-world-championship) and play the actual games on pychess site.
