Ok, so I want to try something here. @YouGetNoRest , do you do math? You said you have an IQ of 178, so could I test it with a puzzle?
@YouGetNoRest The thing is it is really hard to believe that IQ. I'm not convinced at all. As a mathematician, I am nearly sure I know more than you. However, knowledge is not intelligence, so I'd like to see if you could answer math questions that only use material up to (including) an introductory calculus course. Considering your IQ, I would suppose you would have already encountered the fundamental theorem of calculus by yourself. What I'm saying, is that I won't be convinced of your IQ without proof. There are lots of things that apparently contradict this claim:
-giving away $300. Do you expect anyone to collaborate with you on some top secret project?
-being an extroverted personality type. No genius will ever be extroverted. My brother saw your inbox, and saw you said this.
-Being a cheater. Seriously, no need to appeal, if your IQ is what you say it is, you should know the cheat detection method is based on neural networks, and those are incredibly accurate. Trust me on this, data science is one of my research areas.
In conclusion, agree to proving your IQ, or you are an idiot in my world.
@Pinito_the_Bulldog , wat, wat, cheat detection isn't based on neural networks
Woah dude, who said that geniuses cant be extroverted? Its practically rooted n upbringing, and the personality type (Sure, psychologists have stated that people can usually only communicate best when with people 30-ish points within their IQ range.)
But I suppose with an IQ of 178, a person should just be able to skim the course material and achieve at least a good understanding of it.
@Pinito_the_Bulldog ,Reality is more complex than theory. Having a high IQ is basically just being good at abstract reasoning , nothing more than that. Having a high IQ isn't like being able to solve a billion dollar problem, you have to study, everyone has to study any resources.
@Stockfish_Level-0 Can you name a single extroverted genius? Einstein, Neils, Dirac, Bourgain, etc. are (were) all introverts.
@kiritolemon You do also need knowledge to solve a million dollar problem, and if you read my post, I explicitly said that I know intelligence isn't the same as knowledge. That's why I was going to test the IQ with only stuff @YouGetNoRest already knows. So no matter what math level he's at, I'll be able to measure his abstract reasoning, not his knowledge.
About your previous comment, yes, cheat detection here on lichess is based on neural networks. Other sites (like *****.com) don't use neural networks, and that's why lichess has much fewer cheaters going undetected.
John von Neumann (190s), Magnus Carlsen, etc.. I've met a few people north of 150, and while most of them tend to be reserved, most can socialize easily enough with me, at least. Though its true in most cases that individuals with high IQ tend to be more detached from their social life, it depends a lot on the upbringing of that individual, and the environment they are in.
@Stockfish_Level-0 John von Neumann was an introvert (I'm a mathematician, I know this kind of stuff), and I can't even comprehend why anyone would call magnus carlsen a genius. Sure, he's good at chess, but (no offense to him) I don't think think his IQ is that high. Above average, but not that high. You don't need to be a genius to be world champion.
"I've met a few people north of 150, and while most of them tend to be reserved, most can socialize easily enough with me, at least". Being able to socialize with you doesn't mean they aren't introverts. I'm an introvert, and actually have no friends for this reason, yet I still socialize whenever I think it is beneficial to my goals.
Edit: Von Neumann wasn't a genius either. A competent mathematician, but not a genius.
Then I suppose my version of an introvert was a bit off. However, I cant see why Magnus wouldn't be classified as a genius, I mean he memorized over 10,000 games (he said it, don't ask me how its possible). people classified as genius are like another breed of humans altogether, 178 is even more stellar, and this person (YouGetNoRest) doesn't seem too smart.
"Being able to socialize with you doesn't mean they aren't introverts. I'm an introvert, and actually have no friends for this reason, yet I still socialize whenever I think it is beneficial to my goals." The guy I was referring to went to Olympiads, inter-school debates, actively participated in sports and whatnot, was pretty open to helping people when it came to difficult subjects, etc.. even though he never explicitly sought after people, he was open and sociable.
But I cant argue with the fact that most high IQ individuals are more introverted. (I mean, you seem like one..)
