No. Trump tried to make a deal without security guarantees. Normally, a fair deal is beneficial to both. Ukraine have the same right as USA to get a fair deal.
Europe is stepping in.
The issue is that USA tries to get compensation for costs from Ukraine when Russia is the cause for these costs. Russia should pay for them, not Ukraine!
A minerale deal with Ukraine is fine if both USA and Ukraine are happy with it.
