General chat .

seeing how it's been a full 24 (actually 23) hours since bunyip's last posting here, here's an amusing advertisement I found on the internet:
The Ozzy Osbourne Plush Bat is a web exclusive. Bring the legendary moment in rock history to life with this soft toy Plush Bat, featuring the Ozzy Osbourne logo and a velcro detachable head.

Apparently, PETA just stopped trying.
@clousems
The velcro detachable head is a wonderful innovation...it saves kiddies from the horrors of realising they have permanently released from life a bat,whilst at the same time educating them in the inestimable benefits to personkind which continue to spring from The Space Program.It is to be hoped,however,that those selfsame youngsters are made fully cognisant of the fact that a velcro-based re-attachment in real life is not at this time a viable option.

PETA has paused in it's mission to rid the world of carnivores in order to rebuild it's stocks of animal blood to throw on people.
F+S-F Mag. Aug. 1973....Adverts section.

"ALIEN SPACE costs $4 and gives each player command of a warp speed starship,equipped with blazers,shields,sensors,main and auxilliary engines,life support systems,etc.All 8 ships are different and each has a secret weapon.Fleet size version for 16 players.$5.Louis Zocchi, 388A Montana,Victorville,Calif.92392."

NB---at no time does this ad. say it is a game being advertised.The use of the word "player" does not make it so.If you have seen the movie "The Last Starfighter"you will see what I'm getting at...
Considering the delivery lead-time on a fleet of Starships, they should be arriving any day now. BE AFRAID!!
There seems to be a pattern to the life expectancy of any given thread.The higher of degree of thought required,the faster the contributions dwindle to a few people...usually the same few.

Could it be that younger folks these days are attuned to the one second news-byte (on which elections are won and lost),and perceive the attention span needed to absorb one second of sound and vision as sufficient to enable an in-depth critical analysis of the subject matter presented ?
Or is it perhaps that the older ones have more time on their hands and see this as a good way to fill it in between naps?
Sorry, could you phrase that without the word 'election'? I can't get past that dang parenthetical without googling "Trump impeach," which causes me to get exhausted from reading too many tautological news articles.
@clousems

(on which the voting population's choice of those they perceive as the least lying,corrupt carpetbaggers depends)?
Ever noticed how when you smash a troll by using fact as a debating tool,they instantly try to turn it into a pissing contest?

Works every time.

This post is NOT a reference to anyone in this thread.
IMO, trolls do not really give a damn about facts or logic, to the best solution is to just ignore them.
