@Mahith1708 I know of people from India on lichess itself that would agree that India allowed the mass gatherings. hence allowing spread of COVID. And pretty much the entirety of the world's news sources are in agreement.
NDTV is a perfectly fine news source and so is Times of India, for example. And both agree on quite a bit of stuff. You can't make political assumptions like this with no basing at all.
There was something similar where I live about CNN and Fox. However, if there is bias, it was so minimal that it didn't matter.
The fact is that the Indian government allowed gatherings, which basically asked for COVID spread.
Also #18: Outsiders can comment because we are just as well-informed because we actually read the news - and get all the perspectives. As it is called "democracy"

According to the new rules, Twitter and Whatsapp has to give them the first-person information of a message or tweet whch is clear violation of a persons rights.

Believe it or not , A rather unpopular opinion is that developing country should not be democratic . A liberal democracy is not feasible for developing nations . Democracy was never the reason why the rich and powerful became rich and powerful.
I would say it is the attempt of rich and powerful to remain rich and powerful while we struggle to develop .

You can't really prove that it originated there and also it just originated (believed to have originated in China) and it's not like they invented the Virus and fools going about spreading that should just stop.
Why would a country create a germ-bomb which would harm itself ?
Again as I said, there is no use trying to blame the Chinese.Right now, Modi and the Indian Govt is the one to be blamed for India's Covid situation
@Mahith1708 Fine, NDTV is biased (I looked it up again to make sure), but I haven't heard of that in a while. But so is every other news source in India biased, at least to an extent. And yet, all of them seem to be in agreeement that the Indian government allowed the gatherings now.
And the world's other nrws sources (New York Times, CNN, etc.) seem to agree too. Clearly, then, something is wrong with your argument.
And no, you're not getting brainwashed because you can choose what to read in the news. Democracy.
