BODMAS seems to be more common outside the US. PEMDAS is used in the states. But again they're synonymous. The importance is understanding the shared priority of multiplication & division and addition & subtraction. Multiplication isn't "first" nor is division "first" except as dictated by the notation and the order in which they're written.
10 × 5 ÷ 2, multiplication is first only because we work left-to-right.
10 ÷ 5 × 2, division is first but only for same reason.
