Chess.com calling lichess the little site.

Interesting and not a good reflection on Chess.com if true.

I just went to chess.com. A man posted his reason for leaving (v3) he posted 4 months ago (he is still at chess.com) it takes all kinds.

The list the top 20 chess site on line (lichess or chess.com missing) fishy list not all were playing sites the rest wanted money.

My opinion lichess is best

Muting own members when they try to mention lichess is not a nice thing to do, yet very understandable. They try to run a business and lichess is a very serious threat.

They can do whatever they want. If people like playing there it's fine for me. I don't feel the urge to convince them otherwise. I just don't care what they say or think about our "little chess site". Lichess provides everything I need and everyone's happy.

also hard to say if this is even a wise thing to do... i guess it hasn't caused any sort of mass outrage or anything, but i do regularly see people complaining about how chess.com treats members who mention lichess

You miss the point they did not mute him for posting competitors they mute you for mentioning lichess. (They=chess.com)

Their reasoning (as given by the mods) is comparisons will lead to disputes and arguments, which is not tolerated in their forums. Everybody gets along, name calling is non-existent.

Yeah, it’s a shame that chess.com seems to think it’s a competition with lichess. I remember when they introduced their “new” Arena tournaments and users on chess.com were amazed. :)

Come on, we don't need to attack a straw man argument while they're not here to defend it.

There will always be differences in opinion but we can probably coexist with them.

Well, if chess.com the "bigger site" bans members with no explanation and has abusive bullies as support, I think I'm much happier with this community.

#17--Yep, I remember when they introduced that. I said something along the lines of "Reminds me of lichess' arena tournaments" and started a timer just to see how long it would last. Within 5 minutes, my comment had been deleted, no surprise there.
