Hey there, I have perfect internet and I would like to remove lag compensation for me and my opponent. Where is this option? Thank you for your help! :)

No, there isn't. It's not how it works.

Your internet is perfect, but what about your opponent's internet?
And the ping of those who are far from the server?
Lag compensation is one of the most spectacular things on this site.
It is even one of the (many) differentials of the Lichess compared to the others.

Yeah, but basically top 20 ultra players are using keyboard extension or they have lag and use the lag compensation as a benefit. I have proven that they are having not perfect connection (lag) or they are using keyboard plugin...isn't this an unfair thing with lag compensation?

@FernandoCombinations lag compensation ruins the fast paced games. Your opponent can play way slower and still get an edge on time and even flag you despite being slower. It is hard to understand for people that didn't experience it, but trust me, it is awful.
Artificial Lag is even a popular cheating method in other games (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheating_in_online_games#Artificial_lag/lag_switch)

@Magirly Do you think it's fair that a player who is playing far from the server has a disadvantage for that?
In the case of Lichess, the servers are in France (I think) and I am in Brazil. My connection is good, fiber optics. My ping with a server here in São Paulo is 3-5 ms, but with one in Paris it turns in 200-250 ms. I would lose 1 second every 4-5 moves.
If there was no lag compensation, I would be at a disadvantage against any European, for the simple fact of being located too far from the servers. So I think it's fair play and necessary that there is lag compensation.

Okay, first of all: Yes, I think it is absolutely fair. It's not my fault you live far away. You don't have to play Ultrabullet, it's not a main game mode. When I go to a forest, I also don't expect to have a good connection, so I won't play. If I'm on holiday and I have bad internet, I won't play. It's as simple as that.
But if you really want to play, there's also other options, like creating seperate tournaments with and without lag comp or giving non-lagging players a time advantage.
But you have to understand that lagging is severly impairing the playing experience for the opponent - while the lagger doesn't even notice it, for him it just seems like the opponent is playing slow. It is simply unfair that I have to suffer because of other people's problems, and I am pretty sure thats why @HyperCloxy made this post (answering @Toadofsky s question)

Fortunately, the administrator of this site has a different sense of fair than yours.

Fernando, you never played bullet or ultra bullet, so I think this topic isn't something you can talk about, is it?
