DGT does not register moves (Websocket Disconnect)

Thanks for the response,

I’ll check and see in live chess but I have moved it away to another area and still did the same, it connects ok, then won’t recognise the first move and tries to refresh every 5 secs, and has the websocket message. It has worked fine

@Countrylife Ah, you get the websocket experience aswell. I fixed it with re-install of my OS, as I never figured out the actual problem with why the Websocket would disconnect. You might try that if you can, but understandably it might be an issue to do so.

On a different note, how do you get it to work with Chess.com? Nobody seems to be able to play with the board on there, have they updated anything?

Also, White Pawn only works with Android with the DGT board Im afraid. Its an Apple thing I believe. Acid Ape (GM version) is supposed to be the definitive best app for Android, but it cost a few Euros and again - its on Android.

To be honest with chess.com it worked first time, I just clicked the DGT board in the player settings and it worked! I do have live chess 2.2.6 don’t know if that makes a difference and downloaded voice commentary which also works although I have to give it time to connect. I watch a current live game and then the voice commentary comes in then I know it will play for my game.

Hope this helps

My laptop is literally brand new and on windows 11 only bought it only last week so not sure reinstalling would be a good thing or how to do it tbh

Would installing rabbit plug-in help me?

@Countrylife
Understand that you dont want to reinstall Windows. Reinstalling rabbit and Livechess is not problem tho, you can go ahead with that. Rabbit is not used for Lichess however, I would not open that together with Lichess, I think it might conflict if I remember correctly (from experiements on chess.com). So try to only run LiveChess and see how you fair. Just play some bots or casual so you dont lose ratings

Thanks on the update on chess.com also, I might have to try and play there again :)

I've connected through the usb cable instead of blue tooth and still no change. it picks it up in live chess no problem, no ghost moves, and connects ok, then i tried to play the computer on lichess and it doesn't does not pick up the move and issue reoccurs. I've contacted DGT support and ringing them back at 2pm

@Countrylife You did install the DGT Token from Lichess and you keep both windows open during play? Im sure you did and sorry if its a stupid question, I just want to cover all bases here

@Bracco Tagging you too, maybe you have some ideas

@Countrylife @MancombSteepwood Gents, I ran out of ideas.
You wrote that LiveChess reflects perfectly the piece detection of the board, right? if this is true then the problem seems to be between the lichess plugin and the communication with lichess. Hardware looks fine.

My only suggestion will be to try to setup a Linux machine with the LiveChess version for linux. This is my setup since the creation of lichess plugin for DGT and it works fine

Good luck

please post the response of DGT support

Not a stupid question always worth a check and yeah had done everything required as it has been working. DGT support line walked me through possible issues and came to the same conclusion that it was lichess and not DGT. This was because as along as live chess registers the moves as per the board then it is ok. Which we did, when connected to lichess and when I played the first move live chess picked it up but lichess didn’t. But as it has worked on lichess they said keep trying, but we’re willing to take the board back if I wasn’t happy, which was excellent service but persevering for now as it works on chess.com for me.

You’ll have to excuse my ignorance but what do you mean set up a Linux machine?

@Countrylife
My apologies, i work in IT and I always assume (wrongly) that every time that I use my slang everybody will understand.
I meant to have another PC or laptop, a bit old and not suitable anymore for recent Window$ versions, scratched and reinstalled with a Linux distribution. My favorite is Mint Cinnamon, very complete and lightweight. Then you can install there LiveChess 2.2.6 in its Linux version and then check the DGT board with lichess.
