No. You are wrong. The highest level to which we can challenge is Stockfish AI level 8. If it was the current best engine version today, then there would be analysis by Stockfish AI level 8 in the analysis board. But since analysis by Stockfish 13 is available, there can be challenge to Stockfish AI level 13.

No. You are wrong.
The Stockfish version number of 13 that Lichess quotes relates to its development (like Windows 8, Windows 10 etc), not its playing strength level. As Stockfish's development number increases 11, 12, 13 etc.. the strength of its AI level 8 increases.
Stockfish 13 is like the engine in the car, level 8 is the gear you select. The engine is always the same, you are simply selecting a different version of it! It is always Stockfish version 13, whether you pick level 1 or level 8 to play against...

just click on practice with the computer to play the stockfish 13, the 14 is not yet available, the 13 manages to beat the 8 easy, by making them confront together
Maybe it isn't included because the higher the level, the longer stockfish would read variations.

So stockfish has maximum of level 20 and Lichess caps it at level 8 for simplicity sake because no human needs to play that high level a match, am I understanding that correctly or does that level mean something else?
