Why is there the takeback feature ?

I received this message from lichess

"We noticed a pattern of aggressively asking for takebacks in your communication. This is a reminder that nobody is obligated to grant you a takeback. By asking for a takeback you are solely relying on your opponent's courtesy, so them rejecting your request is not bad sportsmanship. On the other hand, it IS inappropriate on your part to criticize them for it. Please keep this in mind in the future."

So my question is since accepting takeback is not sportmanship why we shoud accept it ? and why this feature exists

It's there so that if two players agree they want to take back a move, they can do it (I still don't think it should be legal in rated games). Or if you're playing against the computer.

It is a good question and frankly I neither give nor ask for takebacks. I am not responsible for your incompetence while I accept my own.
I'd have no objection if the option was completely removed.

Accepting takebacks ?, is like reversing the game to move 1, so what do I mean?.
I mean 1 takeback, then another, maybe one more, so why don't we just set the pieces up again, and repeat it.
When somebody gambles, they place their bet, either they win or lose, no going back.
If somebody wants a takeback in chess, why couldn't they play a move which was well thought about before they click or drag their piece of choice?
I'm 95%5 on takebacks, if I feel like it I will, otherwise nothing....5% chance I would....

And the only takeback requests I make are against Stockfish levels, for practice reasons...

I accept takeback wishes when my opponent immediately asks for it, and when it is obvious that he made a misclick.

yes like its annoying when like ur opponent captures your queen and u try to recapture but then u misclick, it is obvious u misclicked and u offer takeback immediately, and they decline

Yeah, same, once someone mouse slipped and i asked them if they wanted takeback and they were like “no, its ok”

A mouse slip is just another manifestation of incompetence. Live with it and move on.
