meanwhile markdown is standardized: commonmark. And there are scala libs supporting it, eg https://github.com/gnieh/commonmark-scala
I hope they will implement it one day. i especially miss pretty looking links.

Chess.com design enviroment is very unappealing to me. I was used to play using a chess engine there. Lichess is a much more suitable place. I have already tried chess24 but huh the ambient is not that good.

I just like the people on lichess and to me it seems that chess.com is just unorganized and a bit messy, overall when i first started playing chess back in 2016 chess.com looked unappealing to me, so i just stuck with lichess.

Why all the hate?
I like lichess and it's where I play, but when I started playing I used chess.com app and without it I'm not sure I would have taken the next step to online chess. I see it as an ecosystem and I think the community is better off with them around.
@TheoGantos
If this is the minimum standard you require then I'm afaid Lichess will also dissapoint you.

Also I must say that I find the chess.com leader's candor somewhat less than candid.
If you say, "Yes, there are many problems, but we are honestly doing our best to solve them and hope to have a greatly improved product available to you soon"...that's candor.
If on the other hand you say, "Yes, there are many problems, but we honestly can't deal with them and it's all rather overwhelming"...well, that's more like slamming the door in the enquirer's face.

What "hate"? Grow up.
@MrPushwood also no money seems weird, i don't know if true. But i have read that they had a 30 million funding round. Considering they could spend 1 milion on agadmator and the prices they charge. Also i believe with cloud services getting ever cheaper. Its for a lay person hard to see how its not a huge money maker. But maybe he is right. Who knows, i always assumed they shovel huge piles of cash. But i don't know their costs so its just an unsubstantiated guess. Anyhow well spotted inconsistance.

@TheoGantos by the way I hope you didn't take my posts as a rebuke. I'm glad you're here. I just want it to be because of features and performance not something less tangible. I'm a simple man. Welcome and keep playing!

@killF7 you really nailed the essence of the topic quite nicely in your message.
It's really cringeworthy how, as a non-paying user - chess.com bombards you with deliberately annoying pop-up ads telling you that if you become a paying user - they will drop the pop-up torture pages.
It's really childish. I mean, fine - they certainly have the right and obligation to retain better features for paying customers - but why can't we all be adults here ?
I can think of two things chess.com does quite well even for non-payers, though.
- Vacation for correspondance chess ( we don't have it here )
- Really nice whole game analysis.

@ambrooks thanks for the post.
Can you explain what you mean by "whole game analysis"? I analyze most of my real games with computer analysis via the analysis board after the game. Does that process here miss something?
